Shadow,
Not sure what you mean by "is it ok if there are pieces of belt all-over?"
If it is continually making "new" pieces you definately have a problem. If it is just left over from a prior incident, I personally would clean it up....just in case one of those little pieces ended up causing some other problem. [
]
Either way, if I were you, I'd have a belt or two on order ASAP. These types of belts, whether in a car, conveyor, or a micro heli are quick to fail once they become frayed, kinked, or worn.

You need to watch the belt tracking closely. Yes, clean up from when you threw the belt earlier. If you're eating a belt...roller guides....check 'em again. Ever since my initial incident...no problem and still using the same belt but I got a new one hanging in the bag on the bench just in case. Need to get a set of main rotor blades in here....god I hate woodies!

Yesterday I recived my ATF from Hong Kong and the below pics is what the box looked like when it was delivered. I thought for sure it was toast [X(] but when I opened it everything was just fine. Even with the canopy attachement rod sticking out of the box.

WOW, that sucks
ok, so i was out flying just now and i desided to test this things 3D capableity, so i did a flip and a roll, lil bit of inverted hover, and i think the cp pro has it owend STOCK, but with the brushless motor upgrade, this heli just might dominate all lil heli under $200. my brushless has not come in yet, but i will keep you posted.

gregkabob,
DUDE ! ! How did you not mess your pants when you saw that ? YIKES ! That's like a bad dream ! GLAD to hear its all O.K. on the inside. Its amazing how far these things travel and still make it in good shape.
Shadow,
Somehow your shredding belt and low flight times are related. Your belt is rubbing doing two things: 1. Eating the belt 2. Pulling down your battery
Take a CLOSE look and see where it is rubbing. Where are all the shavings? Look closely in the area the shavings are.
Let us know what you find out and DON'T overtighten the belt. Also be careful not to strip out the roller guide screws when tightening them.
GOOD LUCK !

I just picked up the Align blade balancer and the shaft will not fit the stock blades. The threaded part is 2.86mm and the bolts that hold the blades on are 2.40mm. I was all set to try balancing the blades. I'll go to the hardware store and find some long threaded rod and a couple of nuts and make my own.

That's the balancer I use. You'll need to remove the plastic parts from the blade root. The Align balancer will fit into the hole in the blade itself.

Vince, Thanks Man, didn't even look closely at the plastic attach point to see that it does come off. Ok, I retract my "Align balancer doesn't work". It will work if....
Sdmahr: The guy at the front desk recieved it and put in in my office chair. Yes I almost xxx the pants when I saw it that's why I took pics with the camera phone as I opened it to document it just in case. I was really surprised that it wasn't toast.
I see Jag's shippment is out for delivery so he should be getting them today and hopefully we'll have out RTF's next week.

Shadow,
It sounds like you have the same condition Crash had. Neither of mine have that condition, (lucky I guess ?). My belts go straight back through the center of the rollers and into the tube....no problem.

well there gose my fisrt motor, it's clicking every time it rotatse. i hope me B/L comes tomarow.
sdmahr, is there a way to ad**** the main belt gear?
i think i got it, the issue with my belt , is my main belt gear is low, and the guide rollers are tightend up to much, sorry about the bler
so what i am going to do is add a washer to it to lower the guide rollers.

Washers won't work...manufacturer defect. Move the pulley UP like I said. Make sure rollers are tight but don't over tighten you'll blow the threads out of the holes. Yes...this is exactly the problem I had but it's fixed correctly.

Mine was rubbing on the boom where the belt enters the boom because things were off. I got 'er fixed and everything is fine. What I did was re-drilled the main shaft and raised the pulley 1/32 of an inch. NOW the belt is in a straight line from the pulley to the guide rollers and into the tube. Before, the belt was at a downward angle going from the pulley to the tail boom. NOW it's straight across. I did that because I didn't like the downward angle of the belt and from an engineering standpoint...a straight line will cause less problems and less stress on the guide rollers. It's a modification to improve performance of the belt system and in my opinion...needed, and worked fine. You guys may want to look at the belt path from the pulley into the tube, you'll see what I'm talking about.
Re-Post because someone is NOT reading my posts. You have to remove the bottom section and the complete rotor head to do this repair/mod. Is the above clear to you guys as to how to make this mod or do I need more detail? I's pretty straight forward. Remove the main rotor shaft re drill the holes for the pulley pin 180 out from the other holes and above from the other holes to raise the pully. DONT RAISE IT TOO MUCH OR NOT ENOUGH...it'll cause you major headaches.

LOL....mine looked just as frayed as yours. The only thing I had against using a washer is friction against the frame or bushing. You might be inviting problems, that's why I re-drilled the main shaft. I used the locking collar on top to adjust the height of the pulley. See if it'll work I guess. Looks like we got one out of the same batch. I haven't had one problem since I made the mod and everything stays in line. It would also explain the low runtime and the heat on the battery and esc.

crashcrash, i dont see how there could be friction agains the main fram, sice the only part that moves is the bottom section, why would the washers caus friction?
BTW, never take the guide rollers off unless you absalotly have to, thay are such a PITA to get back on[:@]

Put the blade balancer on and wow are they out of balance. There so far out that I'm going to try and match up some of the others that I have coming in. I'll practice and trash the 4 pair I'll have and then go to the carbon fiber blades.

Shadow,
Congrats on your repair. It looks good ! That should get you back in the air. Notice how the belt is high up against the top of your pulley? It would be ideal if the pulley could come up....to get everything in line. But, for now you're fine....it'll work without tearing anything up. I'm sure at some point you'll get the opportunity, (I know I will), of replacing the main shaft and you can address the perfect fix then.
ENJOY !
