I have picked up rumours of a 7C FASST firmware upgrade. I would assume that something is/has been done to address the issue with the possibility of the GUID being set to 0 for a fast on-off switching sequence and for deep discharging. However, nothing conclusive has been revealed as to the nature of such an update.
My Futaba dealer has told me that I have a choice of testing the transmitter with a GUID=0 receiver, or sending it in for a software update, but has not been able to tell me what this update fixes.
[link=http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=24682]Here[/link] is another concrete mention of "latest software update".
Thus I'd like to ask Futaba:
Is there a software update available which addresses the above problems?

I know it can be upgraded, the question is what the alleged update for the 7C fixes. This seems to be a closely guarded secret...

Thank you Bax!
That was what I was hoping for. Mine is off for the update then [sm=thumbup.gif]
As it stands, it seems people are of the impression that they're left with systems that can "self destruct" (ref on/off and discharging), unaware that there is a permanent solution. I think it would be a good idea if Futaba made it clear, e.g. through the service advisory, that this can be fixed trhough a simple software update.

Can you tell me if all these fixes can be done in New Zealand. I bought a 7c fasst radio set from tower in US, had it shipped to me in S Korea (Im here for two more months) had to pay 50 dollars import tax and postage. I seem to have a radio with the serial number batch that has problems. I dont want to be hit with customs costs and postage to correct all these issues!
Please advise me Ill be back NZ in 2 months.

The 7C has software updated, the 6EX transmitter and the TM-7 module have hardware updated. The only reason hardware is updated in 6EX and TM-7 is because updating the software is not easily done with those units.
All international owners of U.S.-purchased equipment can send it to us. You MUST document that the unit was U.S.-purchased and is being returned to the U.S. for repair services. This would be on the customs declaration and you will have to provide a photocopy of your U.S. seller's invoice. We'll pay for return shipping only if it's via International Air Post. We WILL NOT pay for UPS, DHL, or FedEx shipping. Send us a separate note with a copy of the postage receipt and we'll work out reimbursement.
U.S.-based owners can contact the Futaba service center and get a prepaid return label. Unfortunately, Canada and Mexico are considered "International".

All new systems being shipped from Great Planes have the latest software. The entire stock of affected systems was checked and updated.
