Default RE: Aurora 9Ch, Spectra Pro & Optima - FAQ & Undocumented Features - Mixes, Setups, Tips.

A.T. can you please tell me. All my models are set in normal mode. When I go first time to some place for the first time, I do range test an boot up once in scan mode (to let aurora choose clean frequency) and than again turn to normal mode. that will work with first model.
after that when i want to fly my other model it does not respond to commands until i change it again to scan and than back to normal mode, and of course the first model is after that not working too, and i have to go with this procedure all the time. is there any way for safe use of one setup on several models?

thank you

Scan Mode Scanlinks to one transceiver only.
When changed back to Normal mode, all other transceivers previously linked in normal mode, will not recognize the newchanged setting. After changing back to normal mode, TX will still be bound to that one RX whilstall other RXmustbe re-linked to the freshly chosen clean frequency setting.

Thank you A.T. for fast response. I think that I will set it all to Normal mode, and forget Scan mode.

I could sure use a little help. I am trying to setup an ultimate with 4 servos in the wings. I tried to follow Mike's instructions and it worked fine. Then I was going to do duel rates and can only get the bottom wings to respond to duel rates. I am probably over looking something simple but I can't seem to find out what it is.

Thanks Paul

Just assign all channels in your wings to AILERON....you still have full EPA, Subtrim, Expo affects all servos at once, and Expo does too.
Lets say J3 is AILERON....simply assign the other channels to J3....trim will master into all servos. Very easy and works perfectly.
No mixes, no switches.

Bob if your still here, I have selected a two aileron wing then added two more ailerons. They are all J1 all work fine except when trying to do duel rares and probably expo. I am pluged into chan 1 - 5 - 7 - and 8. From what I gather I am not sure it matters which aileron is plugged into which channel. Anyway the DR don't seem to get passed on to two of the ailerons.

Thanks for any suggestions

Paul

Alan, I have an A9, and Optima 7 (Ver. 1.07, and 2.0 firmware) respectively. How can I see the airborne voltage on my Xmitter? Also, concerning the 2nd battery pack for the servos, do I simply plug it in the the SPC slot on the receiver, or somewhere else?

Telemetry - Battery Voltage via SPC for EP Models - see picture, airborne voltage is accessed via the RX battery icon on Aurora's screen which appears only after Aurora On then RXturned On and link complete.
Optima Transceiver (RX) - SPC - SPC connection & Lead Detailed plus Optima Current Draw/Amps
Optima Transceiver (RX) - Battery set up for Nitro/Gas models #1 caution re NiMH.
Optima Transceiver (RX) - Battery set up for Nitro/Gas models #2 caution re NiMH.
Optima Transceiver (RX) - Multiple Batteries may be installed Dual batteries for redundancy or even one for each servo. NB: note detail regarding the use of two packs with one is plugged into SPCand one into servo bus, power to servos is still from the one battery pack only as no power is shared between the SPCport andServo bus.

I just have a 6 volt NiMh pack as a second pack with a Hitec connector on it. Do I still need the SPC cable or just plug it in, the manual is not too clear...Thanks Alan...

Negative. Whilst a battery may be plugged directinto the SPC socketor use a short extension lead as a "plug", recommend aswitch lead be used, preferably heavy duty (anti vibration) such as
54407S Hitec Swicth Harness HD JR/Airtronics if for GP or Heli.
Reminder, any battery plugged onlyinto SPC port powersthe receiver and provides no power/backup to the servos nor telemetry of what is happening on the servo power bus.

Thanks Alan, I think I got it. I have a 5-cell NiMh plugged through a switch to BATT input of the Receiver, and I can isolate the current draw of the servos and assign that current draw to an 2nd 5 cell NiMh pack connected to the SPC port through a second switch...

Am I close..??
