OK lets try this again, stupid internet [:@]
I met up with String last night for some fly time, got some good vid this time, as soon as I edit I will post a couple of them
Well the night started out bad so I should have known my luck was off started with a flat tire as I was leaving work
anyway we went to the field and String was up first, mugi oh that sweet mugi, it fly's so good I just can't get over how smooth it is
got some good vid and a couple nice low close up flyby's and some aerobatics too
OK now it's Nasty time and man was it ever, started out launch good strong climb, trimmed out good and I started to come around and all of the sudden it started glitching and then I lost total control and all I could do was try franticly to stop my high power speeding lawn dart from [X(] oh too late IMPACT[:@] OK picked it up and it had accordianed the nose, not gonna let this get me down so new prop wrap tape on nose and back up it goes, looking good flying well considering the nose was all floppy and loose then again glitching and she's going down, this time I managed to get a bit of control right before it hit so I got it to cartwheel instead of nose in, OK I'm determined to get a good flight so up we go again, this time I keep it sorta close and all is well but I let it drift out a bit and YEP glitching and lost control, again I get lucky and gain enough control right before impact to flare it and make a hard belly flop
only new damage is broke prop. We were thinking maybe weak batts in TX but the more I think about it the more I think this is same TX that brought my Stang down due to lose of control at about the same distance so this TX is getting retired
I have vid of first launch and then crash, well almost have the crash, hood of my truck got in the way of the impact
Good news it's fixable, not gonna be as nice as it was but it will still fly good
Here is the best part, IT WASN"T MY FAULT and I have a witness

Hey Chris,

Seems to me it comes without bullet connectors so you can put on whatever you want.

I used luaun plywood (1/8" thick) and made my own mount.

I mount my 9060 prop with a prop saver and a #12 o-ring. [link=http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=V504514&pid=V190506]Balsa prop saver 3mm[/link]

I think you'll like the motor. But I have never experienced a rimfire....yet

.....5..... rimfires are grrrrrrreat....here is what i ordered just to test it....

400XT

MCD400R 3 Round Mounts & Screws for
SPEED 400 ..... $ 5.90

MJ4698 MPJet "Ultralight" Collet Prop Adapter for
3mm Shaft, M5 ..... $ 4.40

JEC002 Jeti 3.5mm Gold Plated Male Connector, 3 ..... $ 6.20

P09038 9x3.8 APC Slowflyer Prop ..... $ 2.70

P10038 10x3.8 APC Slowflyer Prop ..... $ 3.00

P11038 11x3.8 APC Slowflyer Prop ..... $ 3.20

so we will see... if i like it and it doesnt fly the airplane heavy and the 3d aspect is unlimited i see an order for 10 or so in my future ..if not ill prolly just pick up 5 or 6 rimfires...

i hope the motor mount i bought ill be able to use.. i dont really have any saws for making motor mounts... i need a bandsaw but ive never needed it because of my glow/gas planes have been arfs

AJ,

It was a blast flying with you again. Next time we need to get both up at the same time. Get that Nasty straightened up and I will have a Nasty ready by then, too. I'm thinking a 75% version to make transporting easier. But I will still bring the Mugi 100 along to challenge that blackbird again!

My wife thanks you for convincing me to go with a cheaper camera for aerial photos.

I know how you feel NTJP. I wanted to fly the PT-Foamy last night. It was bueatiful, clear, and no wind. I start to go down the stairs and I hear, "Oh no, have you seen the 'to-do' list for tonight?" Another day foamy... another day.

Here is my latest 6mm flat foam depron EJet

Motor Mega 16/15/3
ESC jeti opto 40
2 * 2S1P Lipos in series
AUW 20 ounces
Span 26
Length 20
Wing area 290 sq inches
wing loading 10 ounce ft2

She is very fast and flies well.
Will experiment with 5*5 and 4.7*4.7 props for a bit more speed but she is very fast and awesome vertical.

Will make an IC version for a 0.12 and an EDF version but from Balsa and may even do a
.40 pusher with retracts.

Wow. 4 cell, 15 turn motor, on a 290 sq in flat airfoil wing.. That's gotta scream. You DO have carbon spars in that wing.. don't you? Good lookin bird. Kinda looks like a Shrike.

Hey coolbean thanks.

Yep a 3mm carbon spar in the wing and a 6mm spar in the leading edge to give a nice round shape to the wing.

Have nearly built a balsa 0.12 ic version with a balsa sheeted wing.

Should be nice and fast aiming for 22 ounces.

Here's my first sucessful attempt at taking pictures in the air. A self-portrait....

...and a picture of the farm next door.....

The Muig 150 is flying so smooth today. I actually caught it in my hand at the end of the flight. On launch it is leaving my hand before I get a full forward throw. Gotta love dem mugis!!

I got my pt-foamy off the ground for a few short hops in my driveway. It feels a little heavy, it may be due to the downthrust I put in it... but then again the PT-40 feels heavy too, so I'm not too worried about it. Since it's now a tail dragger it feels a little squirly on the ground, easy enough for me to handle, but might be hard for a newbie. Other than that she feels good so far. Can't wait to get her in the open sky.

bean,

I'm running a bp-21, 11.1/1000mAh lipo. 18a esc, APC 8040E prop (pusher).

I get 130 watts, 15A at WOT on a fresh battery.

I'm a little under-educated when it comes to watts. I looked around on RCU and can't find an explanation. I have a basic understanding of amps and voltage but could you give me a quick primer on watts?

Watts is volts X amps. While it isn't a perfect linear reference and it depends a LOT on the airframe, the following usually holds true.
100W+/lb = 3D
75W/lb = Aerobatic
60W/lb = Cruising

I did put this in my thread under electric training.

Well had to go to Albany for meetings and I'm sitting in the motel room and have about 3 1/2 hours with nothing to do when I realize
[X(] oh my I have 1 sheet of foam, some glue, xacto set and plans for a park flyer jet in my truck, what are the odds of that
anyway, started slinging foam and mixing glue. I have the basic fuse built and the wing set into the fuse. I test glided it across the room a few times, it was sweet, glided like it was on rails. I made some minor design changes to accomodate my plans but overall stayed with the proper design so it should still look like it was meant to when finnished. for those of you with the files it is the JAS 39 Gripen Park Jet. for those without access to the files I will post pics later, still have a good bit left to do so it may be a couple weeks before it's ready to maiden, I made it 77% but then enlarged the wing and tail for reasons to be obvious in the pics

ACR fine looking jet

String, I think I'm gonna give your mugi a run for it's money with this one

LT, be a man, get that thing into the air

AJ, I told Mugi what you said. He says, "Bring it on!"

I forgot to tell you, I am on vacation this coming week so I won't be doing any flying with you on Monday. I will be pickin' and grinnin' at the Gettysburg Blugrass Festival!! Woohoo! Five days of picking music, eating, 30 of the best Bluegrass bands around, building new airplanes, flying, camping, picking music...life just don't get any better for this ol' dude. Might be a taste of the Recipe in there somewhere. Hic...oooh....White Lightnin'...

I'll have my guitar, banjo, bass, harmonicas and a nice supply of fff and all my building supplies with me. Oh, yeah, and my wife. I'll come home with sore fingers and a brand new Nasty. Yup.

Well got to sneak in a little time on the new jet, I should have it ready to fly by the weekend, I hope to work on it tonight after work
might be able to finnish it tonight if all goes well. Pics to come soon. I have some decal material coming and hope to have enough to dress it up a bit, got some scrap being sent to me from a company that makes our company decals, not sure how much or size, I just told him to send me all the scrap and any color he could spare, it's 2 mil thick so it's lighter than painting and won't flake off

String, it's storming and raining here so it's a good week to be on vacation

Hey all, any flight reports to be shared, no flying here [&o] rain rain rain
