So today ads randomly started popping up on pages. They reduce the post text width to less than 1/2 the width of an iphone. Even after closing them, the page doesnt refresh to make the text full screen width.

I get and dont have a problem with ads to pay the bills, but keep them out of the center of the webpage where it makes it nearly impossible to use the site.

I know the 'need' for advertising but anyone else getting the ads in the actual post causing the text to be stacked up in a narrow vertical column?

Well RCU that's going to work against you as my time on RCU has just been cut! Just tried reading a longish post which turned into a massive long column....the txt don't even go back into normal paragraphs after the ad!

When did these bloody ads start appearing!!?? Ruined the site :-(

I just noticed them yesterday . They were only on the right side and at the footer at first but now there is one inside the first post of all threads./forums as shown in the above pic.

Usually its for people who are not logged in. Is it showing up when you are logged in? Sometimes we fail to remember that this websites existence has nothing to do with our beloved hobby. It's a vehicle to make money.

The only ads I see are for RCU reviews/ I am using Firefox on my home computer with Windows 10 OP.

iPhone 6 and iPad running ios 8.3 both show these daft ads.

Your post about the ads has been affected by the very ad issue you bring up. It is quite obnoxious.

The ad's suck, the problem is they will keep running them because while people will complain for a while eventually they will succumb and deal with it and RCU knows this. The percentage of people who will actually leave the site because of this is likely going to be less than 1/2%.
What bothers me about the ad's though is that so far, I've seen ad's for senior russion male order brides, weiner enlargement (apparently RCU filters our P E N I S but you can still say dick, schlong, wang, doodle, hoo ha, cock, tool, diddle stick, weiner, pocket rocket, purple headed warrior), sexy lingerie and travel to Cuba.
We can't have a viable search engine to look for airplane stuff on the site, but it's teaching me how to make my dick bigger, get an old wife that I won't have to live with long (senior), buy her some sexy crap to wear and go on a vacation to some tropical destination.

Oh, and I'm sure the site owners will gladly say that the ad's come up based on your normal everyday searches, well, I can honestly say that I have never searched for any of those things, outside of lingerie I highly doubt my wife has either!

OK, seriously, did this just start? I have been mostly away from RCU for a while because it was degenerating into arguments and other bs and now I come back and find this. I don't mind ads at all, at least when they are for RC stuff, but not in the post itself and certainly not for the garbage I'm seeing so far. Just don't need a retired Russian hooker, sorry.

The most moronic placement of ads I've seen in a forum. It's obvious Internet Brands, the owners of RCU just don't give a ****.

Yeah the new ad format will definitely affect how much time I might spend here online. I don't know how all the other forums do, but you've pretty much chased away almost all the airplane guys except for the jet forum, and you're working on getting rid of them with the moderating, or lack thereof.

These ads are out of control. Mine are only work out stuff, protein powder etc. and movie ads. I guess they track your surfing and send you ads of comparable items.
