Default 8UAP and twin elevator servos

Hello
A flying mate asked me this, what program should I use when setting up twin elevator servos on my new Edge 540.

I tried a P-Mix combining channels 2 and 8 together, but the channel 8 knob has an affect when turned. Is there any way of Inhibiting the Channel 8 knob?

So basically my question is what program should he be using with twin elevator servos?.

the radio is a Futaba 8UAP.
Thanks Anthony[:-]

Hi I was able to figure it out last night, Just used the Alvator program with AIL-3 and AIL-4 set to 0% and have ELE-2 and ELE-1 set to +100%.

No need for a y harness and no reversed servo problems.

Hello,
Does anyone know if this disables the channel 8 knob? Thanks.

Yes this does negate the channel 8 knob when this is activated:

Use the ailevator function, designed for just this purpose.

Plug servos into 2 and 8
Go to AILEVATOR
Make the function active

Test your elevator movement. If one is going the wrong direction, reverse the % for that servo (ie -100%).

IMPORTANT READ ME: Do you want your elevator servos to also act with your ailerons? If NOT, you must reset the AIL3 and AIL4 numbers to 0.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

I tried using the ailevator function on my 8U but ultimately just put in a "reverser" because one elevator half was lower than the other and I could never figure out why. I didn't do anything to the ailerons.

What did I do wrong?

Larry
