R617FS Receiver Won't Bind
Hi I bought a 10CAG Radio about 1 month ago from Tower, plus I bought an extra R617FS receiver to put in a 2nd airplane.
The R6014HS receiver that came with the 10CAG went into my 1st airplane without a hitch. Linked up with a push of the button right off..
Tonight I tried to install and bind the R617FS into my 2nd airplane. Cannot get it to bind with the procedure outlined in the 10CAG manual that is, turn on the transmitter, power up the receiver, push in the bind button for a couple of seconds until the red LED is flashing good, then let off and let it bind. In this case, after I release the bind button, the LED flashes for another 10 seconds or so, then just goes back to steady red. No action on the connected servos, although they do center when I power up the receiver (unbound).
I did verify that the 10CAG still connects to the R6014HS in the 1st airplane, so I am confident that it is working properly. I also checked the supply voltage to the R617FS 5.3v (4 niCads).
Is there a different procedure for the R617FS receiver? No instructions came with it. Any other tricks I should be aware of.

The receiver ID code that you can put into the transmitter applies only to the R5014DPS or R5114DPS FM-PCM synthesized receivers. That code makes sure the transmitter will "speak" to only that receiver when you want to change frequencies. You do not have to enter a receiver's I.D. number when you are using the 2.4 GHz FASST system.
You can change the FASST mode between 7-channel mode and multi-mode in the frequency section of the Linkage Menu.

Please note it is preferred if people would ask a question in a single thread and not multiple threads. Thanks.
