Default Reverse G62?

So I am planning a project in my head, and I had a couple of questions. I really want to use a G62 and was wondering how hard it would be to reverse the rotation? I want to use the magneto as I prefer them to EI.
Also, the reason why is this aircraft will be a pusher. What I am thinking is if I reverse the rotation, then I can use a standard prop turned around. Am I thinking correct here or is that not right? The main reason for this is that it opens up prop choices in this size, as I never see pusher props made that big.

Your thinking is pretty good about the prop.

The engine should run the same the other way by moving the flywheel position.

Check with Steve Thomas at Bob's Hobby Center. He's the importer for Xoar props and they make a few CCW props. I have a Xoar 22X12 three blade CCW for my P-38.

I did see that Xoar has them, but it would be much easier to not have to deal with a special prop. Then I could just grab them from the LHS without having to order them or deal with out of stock situations.

Put the engine on TDC..Measure the distance from the edge of the source coil to the edge of the magnet in the rotor...Take the rotor off, take the key out...Take the source coil off the put it on reversed 180 degrees...Put the rotor back on the crank using the distance from the edge as a guide..I reversed some G26s this way, should work on a 62 as well, same parts are used...Don't worry about pushing the crank back into the case from the prop thrust, there's the same bearing at the rear as in the front..
No key necessary...Use Loctite on the taper and the nut.....Keep the prop nut tight, reverse rotation would tend to unscrew it...
This is the only application where multiple prop bolts would be better

If you're concerned the prop nut might come loose from the reverse rotation, drill and tap a 3mm hole in the prop driver face. Screw in a bolt with a bit of loctite on it and cut it with a cut-off wheel some 5mm from the prop driver face.
Put the prop on in a desired oritentation and tighten the prop nut snug, or just enough to indent the prop. Drill a 3mm hole where the prop is indented - 5mm deep or maybe a bit more.
Now you have a nice index pin that prevents the prop to come loose from the reverse rotation.

I have one of Antique's G62 Lite mounted in a 133" Cessna 421 that is set up like this
