DA 50 has the carb in the rear, the widest point are the stand offs and you could squizz it in a 4 in wide cowl I.D.. Total weight with muffler and ignition is 3# 14 oz.

The new ZDZ 50 and Brison 52cc Revolution engines have a rear carb and should work also. Good luck!

I've had the ZDZ50, DA50 and Taurus 52 in my hand... for narrow cowls the DA appears to be the smallest... the Taurus is shoter but has a side mount carb...

the ZDZ isn't much bigger than the others...

So I guess I'd say the DA-50 (and any other rear carb) would be a safe bet... AS LONG AS you have the space lengthwise... if not you need the ability to put a whole in the firewall for the carb to set back in...

Also Brison has a new Revolution 50 that has a rear carb and LOOKS alot like a glow motor...

Check it out too... they are all priced about the same.

Default DA 50

You want the DA 50. No issues. Easy to operate, and adjust. Smooth as silk. Transition is linear, and click by click on the Tx. and has the most power of any 50cc on the market. You won't find a better engine. The service you will get when buying the engine and asking questions about it is second to none. You will not have problems with a DA engine. They run right.

Default ZDZ50NG

I owe my engine a little advertising... why? One flip starts, power, rock solid operation. The newly released version is even better, 400-500 more RPM's on a 22x8 Menz. The ZDZ50NG would be the engine I would buy after seeing a DA50, BME50, and ZDZ 40-60 in my same plane (GP Extra 300 PW). IMHO

Default Which engine

Dave, I have a Taurus 3.2 in my Yellow Jug and it fits within the cowl. I plan on using a side mount muffler and either exhaust in the scale location or just out the bottom of the cowl. I also have a scale chin scoop and radial for the cowl. Don't forget that you need nose weight in that plane so you need not worry about having a light engine. Regards BobH.
