Hi May I ask what is up with having to add oil to the crankcase after the first run, can I add a tee to the back pressure line and add some oil that way, I can't see removing the back plate to add oil. I am new to this engine any tips would be nice. I am getting close to doing a first start up.

My motor was run before it was sent to me also, so I have left the setting alone. And all I got for a manual was one sheet of paper. If you have the CM-6 plug, then the gap is .016" or 0.4mm according to the CM-6 web site. But the "manual" sets it at 0.03 to 0.08 mm.

0.03-0.08mm is not for the plug gap, it is for adjusting the valves. I sett the plug gap at 0.4-0.6mm

Thanks again, I started up mine yesterday, I had to adjust the carb a pretty good bit. I guess it needed more adjustments then normal, the gas tank is about 40mm higher then the carb, I hope that the carb does not load up with to much gas, what do you think?. I could not get the idle much lower then about 2500 rpms and the exhaust pipe vibrated a lot, I hope it does not brake off. The motor seems to have a lot power at 6300 RPMs, I think it has more power the my 30cc 2 stroke has at 8000 RPMs that is in my Yak 54 I add a temp and RPM sensor to the motor and I can see the bot on my Hi Tec transmitter screen so I can monitor what is going as I am flying.

That's the great thing about Walbro type carbs. They have a pump so tank position is a non issue. Doesn't matter if the tank is high, low, far away. I always mount my gas tanks just slightly ahead of the plane's C/G, so fuel load does not affect the balance.

Do you think this engine could pull an ESM 74" wingspan Corsair into the air?

I realise it's a bit of an open ended question, the answer depends on the weight of the model. I guess this model will come in at about 17 - 20 lbs approx.

I stand corrected, as to the valve/plug gap.

I think the engine wil fit well to that corsair. I am going to putt mine in a ESM aichi d3a1 val. of same size

Hi guys, I was able to get a flight in today on my 30cc Pitts with a NGH 38cc four stroke engine today. Engine run good at high RPM idle was a bit high the bets I could not get it to idle down, it was 2800, but I do not have much time on the engine yet, I am hope for a better idle as it gets broken in more. My first flight was great and first landing was good as the wind was about 10MPH The second landing and third landing was not good, the winds dropped off to all most nothing and the engine was idling to high, need to get the idle down. Click on link for video. http://youtu.be/YGG07CNeO24

seems to be running quite rough..
Have you checked your timing ?
Valve clearance?
Are there gaskets between the carb and manifold ?
Spark plug gap ?

I did check the valves and had to set one of them. There are gaskets between the carb and manifold. I did not check the timing, I am not sure just how to check the timing, I do know where to adjust it just not sure how far to move the pick up or witch way to move it or how far to move it, any help will be nice. Thank for

Thank you so much for the info. I thought that the engine was not running well because it is not really broken in yet, I will look in to setting the timing. So far I really like this engine, sounds great and it had plenty of power. Some guys on here said that the engine did not have much power. I took off at 1/4 throttle and added power as claimed out. So far so good. I really like the engine and the way this plane fly's. I can't wait for summer, I am so over winter all ready. LOL

Yea, I like my engine too so far.
And it will realy run much better when you break it in, that is for sure......and it will take quite some time, as it does not use that much fuel either :-)

When setting the timing, you will find that you an not get all the way down to 28 degrees, as the screws/bracket wont allow it. I think you can get it to about 32 degrees or so.....but you will see.
Its easy to change, and please report back of what you think.

What size prop are you using ?

I will let you know as soon as I can run the engine again and play with the timing, it may be a week or so. I used a 18*8 prop and may try a APC thin blade prop 18*8 or a 18*10. I think the prop I use 18*8 was not bad. I have a Hi Tec Aurora Radio with a Telemetry system and I have installed a RPM sensor and Temp sensor on this engine, I had emailed Mr. Tan the manufacturing of NGH about where to in stall the temp sensor and he said to install the sensor close to the exhaust outlet, so I installed two fins up from the exhaust outlet. he all so said I should be seeing about 160 degrees Celsius or 360 F. The rpm in flight with a 18*8 prop was 7300 and the temp was 230 F, the temp at the field was about 40 F. I look fore ward to hearing from you.

Nice pits Tperk. It sounds like the timing is a little high on the engine, but it vill run better after some time

Looks like you have enough power. I wonder how this engine will work in a 30cc 3d plane

I am sending you a couple of pic of my NGH 38 cc engine set to TDC, the pick up magnet at TDC seems so far away from the pickup sensor Does this look right, From what you can see in these pix, do you think I should move the sensor closer to where the magnet is in these pix? Please let me know what you think

I have a 30cc 70" wing span with a DLE 30 cc engine in it. I think that the NGH 38cc 4 stroke has about the same power, so I would think that the NGH 38 cc will fly your 30cc 3D plane just fine and plenty of power for doing some hovering and what ever else you will be doing.

it looks like you have 45degrees Try to move the sensor closer to the magnet in the picture. if you move the sensor the same way that the engine rotate you wil lower the timing. It will fire later and you will have a lower idle with less vibration. but you can loose some rpm on top.

Hi Tyor, I am going to try and run the engine some more to day, I will run it and check the rpms then move the sensor closer to the magnet and run it again and check the rpms and see what it looks like, would it be possible for you to take a pic of your engine that you have made the sensor changes to your timing. It will be all most 50 out side Today but we will have 25 to 30 mph winds so I will not fly it.
