My DLE 30 engine surges all the time. I have replaced the carb and I also checked to see of it was a radio problem and it is not.
The engine will not hold idle, it will move up 400 to 600 rpms and then back to the original setting and it surges at full power as well. I have resent the carb needles and this doesn't help either. Has anyone run into a similar problem and come up with a resolution?
Thanks

My friend DaleD had a similar problem with his DLE 30. He tried everything including carb cleaner, new diaphrams, repair kit, the works and nothing worked. Replaced the stock carb with a new Walbro and all was well again.

He replaced the stock carb with a Walbro WT759 which is discontinued and might be difficult to find, but a WT739 will do just as well.
A quote from Jody, "If one must have a Walbro there are many that will work well, all are 28-34/64" venturis, ones I've tried that work good are 739, 759, 645, and 805."

Karol, thanks for the info on Walbro carbs. Dan, the first thing I checked was the throttle servo and it isn't the culprit. I will try a Walbro carb.
Thanks to all for your help, it was much appreciated.

Tony, here's a ridiculous thought. Make sure that you throttle servo is good. A worn feedback pot will give you those symptoms. Dan.

I really don't think it is a throttle servo problem. With the cowl off the servo and connection are clearly visible the servo arm did not move and just to be sure it wasn't the servo we held the servo arm so that it could not move and if it did we could feel it moving. It was the first thing we thought of when the engine acted up.
Thanks

Reset the timing to 30 degress BTDC and retune . every new DLE 30 I have checked has had the timing set too high usualy above 35 deg and some as high as 45 deg BTDC , The high timing makes starting and tuning more difficult and also has caused surging. Also be sure you have a CM6 plug and not the chinese knock off plug that came with the engine.
