  Take care regarding Mintor Products. I own a Mintor 170 that never worked. The manufacturer (Mintor srl, Italy) is a total irresponsible company. I purchased the engine directly from them with two headers (different rise) and pipe, spent around $ 1200, including shipping and import taxes. I sent the engine back to them for repair. Accordingly to the Italian post service, they should have picked up the engine and pay some duties, they never did that and the engine was sent back to my country without repair, I had to pay all the shipping charges. They had to discontinue the 170 model due to bad quality. These people (Mintor) are used to manufacture garbage products and give no support, no warranty no responsibility, no nothing. If you already own a Mintor engine, run it until it blows up. (won't take long) If you're thinking of buying one, roll up the cash you were going to use and light a cigar with it. It will prove more satisfying in the long run.

Mintor had some serious problems. Unfortunately, they did it to themselves though. When they attempted to increase production, they outsourced some of the manufacturing but somehow parts weren't being made properly. Thus a huge run of bad and defective engines were produced. Next they had a huge warranty problem with most all of the engines being returned for repair. The American importers and dealers had pretty much given up on them as the American businesses were forced to stop warranty work and repairs as they couldn't get the parts either. Then Mintor went out of business as they couldn't pay their bills. That was one reason so many people got stuck with bad engines too. Another company bought them up and at first wasn't going to honor the old engine warranties, but later decided to do so. But they were slow getting parts out. Plus shipping anything to Italy is usually a bad idea as it tends to disappear when it reaches the country. Of course Italian customs charging import duties on a engine made in Italy being sent back for repair is probably over the top in my book. At present Mintor's new owners seem to be making decent engines again, but I just don't know. Too many problems were there earlier.

They changed the name of the company only, from Mintor engines to Nuova Mintor, ie, the same garbage with a different name . I am still waiting for my money back Claudio !! His main problem is lack of honesty !!..

My understanding is that Claudio is no longer the owner but has been retained in a supervisory capacity by Nuova Mintor.

The defective ring in my (early) M22 wore out in 1 gallon of fuel. Replaced it with a Bowman ring - it has run perfectly ever since (2 more gallons of gas.) Make great power - 8900 rpm on Falcon 17-6.5 CF prop.

Love it.

The ring original 8900rpm 17x6 apc 20 liter gas or 5,30 gallons fuel.
