Hi everyone I am just starting to run in my mates kolm 230 le ready for the carf galloping ghost. I’m having an issue with the starter. It wount turn over the engine. I tried two different escs to no avail. If I remove a plug it will just about do it. I was thinking it could be the ramp up on the esc not giving enough kick.
im using 100 amp escs tried 3 and 4 cell.
any ideas.

you need an ESC with HARD start, the engine should have been delivered with one (mine was). I have a MOKI 250 w/starter where it wasn’t included, and I was recommended a D-power ANTARES ESC where the startup can be adjusted.

The one shown is the one delivered with my KOLM 230 engine.

thanks for that reply, We have now ordered one. We had no issue with the moki or the valach on electric start with normal escs. I tried programming other escs to see but didn’t work. We managed to start it and run the engine but even after some break in it doesn’t want to kick. We will wait and see when this one arrives.

yeah for different reasons not all ESC can do that job, no matter how much cells you run it.

Hello,
I've bought the Electric starter Kit for a my IL230 but does not come with any instructions. Could someone clarify how should I install it or what do I need to be careful with?
I also need to know which ESC should I buy here in USA that will work with that starter.
I already sent email to Kolm and USA dealer but nobody answered my emails yet.
