Default Help with the RCGF 15cc engine.

Hello from Spain, please can you tell me if it is correct that with the piston in the top dead centre, the distance between the sensor and the magnet is 1cm, if not what is the correct one, the CDI is Pegasus.
Thank you very much and Regards.

The correct distance is the magnet finishing passing from under the magnet at 30 -28 degrees before top dead center. Use a protractor or degree wheel (lots of You tube how to's).
The ignition see's when the sensor looses the magnet after seeing it.

I should include I have 3 Pegasus ignitions timed this way.
Did you get your engine timed?

The operator manual says to start with the slot of the ignition pickup sensor centered on the retaining screw. Turning the sensor clockwise to advance the ignition, counterclockwise to retard it. Full advance is 32 degrees BTDC.

I have the 26cc engine but have yet to run it. What is everyone's take on these engines, are they fairly reliable? I bought it mainly for the price, and don't plan to run it much, the plane is mainly for display.

There are a few here in my club with quite a bit of run time that all run well and are surprisingly very powerful for their size.
