Ok here it is I am using a g62 on a world models extra 28%. It weighs 19.1 prop is a Vess 23c equal to a 23 10. Now the fun part it turns it at 9200 rpm an it still isnt tuned up.

G62 turning a 23-10 at 9200RPM? [sm=lol.gif]

I'd love to see that. You need a new tach because thats impossible. I'll venture a guess and say you'd need an 18-6 to see those kinds of RPM out of a G62.

You are correct, 9200 with a 23-10 is impossible...
However, a stock G62 with an 8 inch long open pipe (Macs Products) WILL turn a 19-14 APC special race prop at 9200-9600...On a 26 lb 100 inch wingspan AT6...Verified by on board Eagle Tree system many times over the years...About 125-130 mph, radar clocked....

A buddy of mine has my old G62 on a 21.5 pound plane and it flys it unlimited. We just checked the weight yesterday at the field. This engine has been converted by Ralph and runs an Abell muffler. We thought this plane was about 17 pounds with fuel because of the performance. We checked the weight with two different scales. 22x10 Bolly prop.

mrbigg,
That is what I need to do to mine. I meant to ask, what is the 21.5lb plane? just curious

I have read your thread on the pipe you fabricated. Impressive!

Thanks, man. It's Beef's scratch built profile. You can find pics of it in my "Carden Profile" thread. It's the plane with the pink wings. Flies excellent and is a real floater. We were blown away at how great the vertical is. More so after we found out how heavy it is.
