I have a new 3W-55 that that i am having problems with. It ran good first couple of tanks. now i have to prime it every time to crank it. It runs good in the air once started. I have no bubbles in the fuel line and it has fuel all the way to the carb. It pulls fuel to the carb in about 3 or 4 flips but will not start unless its primed. It will pop on choke then i remove choke flip it and starts for a second then dies. out of curiosity i turned the low speed needle out 2 turns from factory setting and it started right up BUT, it will not idle due to it is now too rich. so i turned it back in 1/8 at a time until i got it to idle again, Now it wont start unless primed, AAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHH. I am positive there is no fault in the tank and fuel lines, is it a carb fault or a reed problem. Also i do not have a line on the carb pressure nipple on front of the carb, it was running and starting fine without it and the guy from 3w said you dont have to hook it up. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks. One more thing, the choke is closing completely when i choke it.

Do you have an in line fuel filter? The two piece variety maybe? If so filter your fuel as you put it in and take the inline filter out. It may be leaking. Been there... done that.

I took the inline filter off, thinking that might be it, didnt help. I turned the needle(low) to where it would start then had to turn the high speed in to where it was about 1/2 turn out just to get 6200 on a 22x10 prop but it wouldnt idle because low end too rich, so i turned the low in until it would barely idle, now it wont start again unless i prime it thru the carb. I checked the diaphram in the carb, everything looks good there.LOL, Im kinda missing my ole reliable G-62 now, it didnt have as much low end power but atleast it would start on the 2nd flip. anymore suggestions? Thanks

I helped a friend with the same type of problem on his 150. We had to back the low end out several turns to get it to start but once it was running it was to rich. If I remember correctly he had a bad o-ring or carb seal and the low end had to be opened several turns to get it to start at idle.
