The 366 is not an SPE and has nothing to do with SPE. The 366 is an engine we build and no one else offers is. We have the crancase CNC's in Colorado. There is NOTHING on this engine made in China The cylinder is made in Italy and the crank and piston are made in Switzerland. The carb is a Walbro.

Scott recommends a 40:1 breakin, and continued service oil mix ratio. I tend to agree; no need to run leaner. He likes Opti II, but didn't have any issues with me using Pennzoil Outdoor Equipment petroleum dinosaur residue in my motors. I can get it at Wally world, easy to mix, and use one jug for all my motors.

Bob, any idea why it's called the 366GT instead of 60GT? Curious mind wants to know.

A name utilizing cc's, like the other engines they sell, would have been better.

man full of negative thoughts tonight I see.
why the heck do you even care about the name Ed? All you have to do is read the specs... its really not that hard.
Go back to bed and roll out the other side [sm=75_75.gif]

I just wanted the name to stand out. Glow engines are allways rated in CI while gas in CC. Doesn't make much sence to me. I just liked the sound of 366

At least Scott didn't use the "McDonalds' Approach" and just call it a "bigger" "Super Size" FIFTY.... although technically, that is likely clearly the intended market niche. I've told Scott since the first one - his Sixty is "the" replacement for all the other 50cc-class engines out there, primarily because of it's light weight and reduced size.
This 366GT fit inside the cowling of my AM Extra 260, 30%, with NO cutting for the head or muffler required! Just the "air vent" openings, and a hole for the angled plug cap. Made a much cleaner cowling this way, and that's pretty cool (pun intended).

So neither type of oil, nor brand is critical. 40:1 all the time. I don't know if they have Opti II but I would like to get whatever they have at Lowes for convenience sakes. And, I spend more time at Lowes than Wallyworld....every weekend. [>:]

Not all oils are created equal. If you use somthing like Lawnboy ashless for a couple gallons, it is fine. I would not use it all the time. It will gum the engine up in the long run. It isn't like you will be buying gallons of oil all the time. One quart will last quite a long time. Just get somthing good for the long run. Silversurfer has a lot of experience with 2 cycle oils. Maybe he will chime in and give a good suggestion. I know Penzoil for air cooled engines is good. Opti 2 is a good oil. Bel Ray is another. Klotz is also a good oil.

I would prefer not to buy a quart. Lowes has a bunch of trimmer/tree saw oils but they give you like 16 ounces. Leaving the oils open to the weather is not great....I think thats why LawnBoy puts theirs in a can. Almost all oils are sealed in some way against moisture and oxygen. I would rather buy it and use it up within a few months. I know they don't have Klotz at Lowes.

I do the pint bottles of Pennzoil from Wally world.... bought a couple bottles in .... let's see.... umm.... oh, yeah.... 2003....Every once in awhile, I'll walk by and see if they still stock it; they do, but even at 40:1, with my limited flying time, OIL will outlast the GAS every time...
And now we're going into the "dark of the Year", when we all get grouchy and ill-tempered because of a- early sunset, b- low sun angle, c- low heating days and d- reduced outside time....
My compliments to those who live in year-round flying season....[:@]

The main thing to remember with oil is, do not use oil made for water cooled engines. Water cooled engines typically run in the 220 deg range. Air cooled will spike well above 300 deg during wide open throttle. You need a good oil that can take the heat. If the oil is in a plastic jug like most quart sized oils are, it is protected aginst any contamination as long as you put the cap back on Those dumb lawnboy cans are a pain. They are dust and dirt magnites. Give me a plastic jug any day. Oil will not go bad over time like gas will.
