I sent someone a Walbro WT76A carb to try on a DA50R....It apparently worked better than the WT201 they use...I have another customer who is having problems and wants to know how it worked out...Will the phantom WT76 user please speak up ?

The only visible differences I find in these two carbs-- is location of low speed and high speed ports in the bore.
Other than that -the rest of the carb functions the same -
inverted /upright on my ZDZ's is perfect -always - no "air-on-the -diaphragm-"problems
so is there a functional difference between 201-76 you know of?
The discharge port setup on the 201 sure works better on my engines (rotary valves)
on the DA -does this tend to cause overrich at closing throttle/ then puddling in the reed setup ?
The 201 chokes far more easily than the 76 -at least in the half dozen examples I have swapped . also low/high needle relationship is easier to adjust
It looks like the proximity of th discharge port to the throttle blade is related
Got any ideas ?

Don't know, the only DA50 I ever saw was one of the first, sent to me by Dave himself..I was not overly impressed at the time, maybe they made some changes...I recall the rpm was not a whole lot more than the Poulan 46 I was converting at the time...I even made a post, "who needs technology" comparing the DA to the Poulan....It's in here somewhere, about 4 years ago...

I had the WT76A on a Brison.
I like it. Made the engine run hard.
Didn't need to have the screws opened all the way to develop power.
Don't know about it on a DA

Thanks for your feedback.
Do you think Dessert Aircraft would have any suggestions? Think they tried this carb?
I flew again today and teaked the low needle a little more. It's getting better. But sure seems like I have to mess with it alot compared to other engines.
