Hope someone could help me out here, I will be installing a Taurus TS-52 in my PW Extra300s and being my first gasser, I do not know how to install a kill switch. I would like to have both a manual operated as well as a servo operated switch. Is there anything being sold that could do this or do any of you guys know of a method that works. Any help is greatly appreciated!

grind or dremil off the flang on the choke and install a steering arm like the ones used on trainers to run your choke servo with the carbon fiber nyrod.

You can also use a choke servo that would serve two purposes,

1- choke the engine via TX
2-full choke will instantly kill the engine.
Much better way in my opinion.

but if you choke the engine out it becomes difficult to start again....

Not true with gas engines, don't do this with a glow engine.

Are you using fiber optic servo leads?

In my case, yes, but if you keep the servo at the same place as the throttle servo there is no need for Fiber Optic. if its kept far from the engine compartment.

I'm not trying to sell anything. I don't use Fiber Optic in the smaller airplane but still use the choke servo.

why would you need to use FO if it's in the Engine compartment?

If you have a servo in the direct proximety of the ignition system, chance are that you might have some electrical feed back to the receiver, with the Fiber Optic, there is no chance of that.

the ignition battery powers the throttle and choke servo and everything electrical in the engine compartment stays there and the only thing that goes to the receiver is the Fiber Optic cable which is immune to any noise
