Default Prop position & starting

What is the ideal prop position for easiest starting? I have the 43cc EI2 mounted on my GP Patty Wagstaff Extra, and was wondering about this. I have had several large glow engines in the past, but this is my first gasser, and I am looking forward to getting this bad boy fired up....

Also, Should I start flipping at compression, like a glow engine, or should I back up some?

Thanks,

Tim

I like my gasser props to be set around the 1 O'clock to 7 O'Clock position.

Thanks, Guys. I know this is the manufacturer support forum, but I figured since it is a Fuji engine, i might get better info from the guys in here who use them..I didnt know if there were any "specific" tricks to this engine... Now, off to start the beast!!

You might find that the when you start flipping it the first few times it will not draw fuel. I've seen 5 of these do this. Just squirt a little fuel into the carb with both the choke and throttle wide open, make sure the ignition is off, close the throttle to idle and close the choke, rotate the prop about 5 -7 times, you'll feel the prop get easier to turn. At that point make sure the throttle is still at idle, turn on the ignition and flip. Usually in about 4 or 5 flips she will fire and shut off. Now open the choke and in about 4 or 5 flips she'll run. After youdo this just once, it will now pull fuel every time

You will also notice that it seems the engine is down on compression at first. After you get one tank through it you will then notice that it's got a little more compression and is already making more power.
