g62 starting problems

I recently purchased a slightly used G62 that has the rc ignitions conversion that I , for some reason can't start. When I bought the engine and started it up for the first time it started and ran what I would consider on the rough side. I flew 5 flights but the engine sounded as if it was deiseling. The next day I started the engine up at home and after it warmed up I stopped it. I then adjusted the carb to the factory setting and restarted it. The engine sounded great and ran very nice. I took the plane to the field a couple days later , choked the engine and after I noticed gas dripping a little from the carb I turned on the ignition and after a couple more prop turns the engine sputters, I open the choke and turn it maybe 30 or more times and it wouldn't start. I have gone through this procedure 3 more times with the same results. I even replaced the spark plug. If I close the choke it sounds like it wants to start. I have also opened the choke half way and nothing happens.

There is a carb isolation block (black or brown) between carb and head. If the screws get loose, then you loose port
pressure to the carb and it won't allow gas in. Be careful in tightening those 2 screws (going thru the carb body) as if you over tighten, you will crack that phonelic block and then you'lll never get it started. You can remove the block also to inspect and look for any hairline crack..it does not take much. Also, there is a very small filter inside the carb, (see where inlet is..and remove small screws panel) the screen if very small and easily plugs up..it is removable and very small, so don't loose. You get a new
screen and other parts when you order a rebuilt kit for a g-62. A new isolation block is available at Horizon hobby if yours is cracked.

If it's my conversion there is no leaky block and no pressure port in the block...the pressure comes from the fitting in the case under the carb and goes to the carb back plate through the black neoprene tubing...
Most likely cause of the problem is a stiff diaphragm in the carb...Carbs don't leak when everything is right....
Some of my old conversions had ignition problems....Look at the back cover, if there's only 1 nylon screw holding the circuit to the plate you can send me the engine for free replacement of the ignition...It WILL run right when you get it back..[8D]
