I just started my Evo gasser for the first time and after a few minutes I noticed that the fuel line was begining to abrade against the
engine.
My past experience with glow engines I never had this problem. Am going to try and shorten the line and route the excess away from rubbing the engine. Will also slip a section of hose around the line to protect.
Any thoughts...
Thanks

engine.

keep fuel lines clear from the engine at all times if possible. That applies to glow engines as well, but for gas engines in particular, since they run hotter. Angle the tank outlet a bit and you can run a straight line. Keep well away from that exhaust manifold as well, unless you want a bag of problems.

All that you have suggested will work as from from the pictures you posted it's obvious that the fuel tubing is simply too long and will in fact rub against the ignition's braided HT lead. Just shorten and relocate their run if possible to avioid them touching.
Also use some method of securing the tubing at the connections otherwise they will slip off eventually. A simple fix is to use small nylon ties or better still suitable size fuel barbs are available which are soldered to the brass tubing and with the ties provide a much more secure fix.

Thanks
I shortened the line and have a small tie wrap to run it along the plug wire looks better now.
Do they make hose clamps small enough to go over the tygon fuel line?
I'll look for those barb fittings also

Yes they do but I have never had much luck in using them on gas lines as after a while the tubing hardens and the clamps lose most of their holding power. They work very well for glow.

cut off a small ring of fuel line, and use that as a clamp by slipping it over the remaining line end
easy for you to say..
Sounds like a great idea if ai can find the tubing with the right ID

Heres what the rest of the plane looks like. I can't wait to get this plane in the air, the way it was pulling on the starting bench when I gave it its first test run was incredible.
Trying to get a battery now for the ignition that works. This engine's ignition needs to stay above a certain voltage or it cuts out. Mine ran for 7 minutes yesterday and then quit, Charged the battery and tried again went for 7 minutes and quit, Now I need to find a 7.2 volt with enough milliamp for the task. Anyone out there Use lithium ion batteries?

English being not my native tongue, I use round nose pliers that spread when I squeeze! The type to expand a bearing lock spring ring.
Forceps, is that tweezers? It's late now, and I have no energy left to look it up! [&o]
