Yep the SV-26 with a APC 17x8 prop in spinning at 7500RPM. That comes out to just under 14lbs of thurst(13lbs 14oz) messured with my digital fish scale. Should be a little more that 14lbs once airborne.

The XY-26 looks very much like a SPE-26 which I know is a very good engine. I don't really like the carb on the SV-26 but, it does work well. The carb in the XY-26 is a better carb so from what I know I would spend a few dollars more and get the XY-26. Don't get me wrong the SV-26 is a very good engine for the money but, I have spent a lot on time getting it to run like this. Dennis has been a very big help here with his SV-26 on his Stearman.

Thanks for the feedback on the XY 26cc. What could be an alternative pitts style muffler for this?
Any thoughts?

Beware of the SV 50 single cyl. Greg started his this morning, and it vibrated so badly that it immediatly broke 3 of the mounting ears off the engine case before he could shut it off ! I sent HC an email requesting that we pay the difference and upgrade to the 50cc twin. Just have to wait for their reply now. Greg stated that his Brison 50 has a big plate for the mounting. The SV 50 just has ears like the SV26.

You can get a pitts style muffler for the XY-26 from www.bcmaengines.com. He sales this engine as a BCMA-26 and has a pitts style muffler for it. Take a look at his site. Adam is a great guy to work with.

This one is just a straight SV50. The mounting ears are not thick enough, and where they snapped, at the case, is very coarse cast. Very under engineered in our opinion.

I just looked at the pitts style muffler BCMA engines sells for this engine and it looks like the muffler from the SV-26. If you get one for your XY-26 use red locktite and washers with lock washers to hold the mufller bolts in place. Other wise they will back out when the engine is running.

Does anyone have tach readings on the XY 26? Or does anyone own one? Can you tell us how it runs or experience with it.

Paleface:
I can't wait to hear your report on the XY 50cc A-spec. I am also VERY interested in this engine for my SIG 27% CAP 242. I am planning to order in about a week.

Im sure it will be alright there are a lot of single cylinder motors being used out there and Im getting one because the "A" spec 26 is a winner , its going to go in a Minicraft TaylorCraft 85"

One thing Ive noticed surfin the net , a lot of american stores are selling a LOT of rebranded Chinese made stuff , brushless motors and all sots of modeling gear and these engines, at a much dearer price.........[X(][]

The way my SV26 runs, I would think they would be $300.00, im amazed really. Heck, aside from the size and power, it runs as nice as my friends Brison 50. It starts as easy, idles just as nice. I can't wait to see if there going to have a nice parts selection later on.
