Mine came in today!
Now I just got to mount it in the plane, so it should be next monday for it's first flight. I had to order more 5985MG hitecs and some Vess 22As. I went to put the servos in the wings last night and found I only had 5945s laying around, I want 5985s, so now I'll work on the engine installation and rudder servo.

mmattockx , What kind of info are you looking for??? I posted all the technicle spec's on the ad. I have not posted the new engine on my website as of yet. Not enough hours in a day with answering questions and getting engines ready for sale. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Where is the ad? I haven't seen it yet, that may answer most of my questions. If you want to, PM me with the ad details if it breaks some RCU rule to post it in the thread.
Thanks,
Mark

The ad is on RCU under gas engines. It has been there over a week. It is item #360959. It is the engine on the scale with a BLUE
cylinder head.

I took a look in the box today, this is what I found.
The motor all up weighs 3 pounds 9.7 oz. ready to fly. 1636 g.
Carb is WT664A
Plug is L7T.
Ignition is RCCDI Version 2.0 4.8-6.0v.
The exhaust bolt hole spacing is 1.644" 41.75mm, bolt looks like 5mm. The exhaust port is .577"x1.051" with about 1/4" radius corners. 26.69mm x 14.67mm
The DA 100 header I have laying around fits perfectly, you can see all the threads of both holes, though I will dill the holes out just 1/64" bigger.
The muffler is a light aluminum thing that's painted silver gray.
The casting for the cylinder is gorgeous, like the MT62 great casting. It has five intake ports, one boost four transfer, and one exhaust port.
The piston is two rings and blocks maybe 2mm of the exhaust port when at BDC, maybe this cylinder is going to be used on something with a 4mm longer stroke?
The machining of the crankcase looks at least as good as a DA50, but not polished like a Brillelli crankcase. The crank is supported on both ends with what looks like one bearing in each halve of the crankcase.
The prop drive has a 10mm bolt tapped for a 4mm spinner screw, and uses two 4mm blots through the prop in addition to the 10mm.
The reeds are large, one on each side of the reed cage, the are translucent fiberglass, set at about 45* to the mixture's flow.
I have all of LS Pro's engines, this is the best made by far. This and the MT62 will make power with anything, no excuses that it's cheap. This looks to be a better made engine that my DL50, just super clean casting and CNC crankcase. I think this engine will blow everyone away when they see it in person, it looks better in person than the pictures. I can't wait to crank it up and see what power I get, I saw Larry's prototype engine and ordered mine right then.

What's the best 50cc gas motor avail right now? of the no name brands?

Myself, I am watching closely to see what customer engines will do for power and ease of running. Specs-wise, the MT looks very competitive with the other 50cc offerings out there.

This is a question,
I thought a rear draft carb design was always a better choice?? or so I have been told. better fit and performance? Whay do you think?

I think it is really funny how some guys always seem to find some way to mention and praise the DA50 in threads on other engines. sure the DA is a good engine but this thread is not about the DA.

Hehe....I hear ya.
Isn't the MT the one that Ralph is set to stand behind for warranty service work? I suppose this is an 85?
I've been seeing pictures floating around with very similar casework, and cylinders...that is a 100cc as well....interesting stuff. Seems a lot of folks are jumping into the engine market. I guess we'll see what happens. Having Ralph 'endorse' the item got my attention...like others I'm sure. We we'll follow along and see what comes of this.

I "believe" so.
They have so many different names it tough to keep track of which is which. The last time I talked to Ralph he said the engine he had looked good. Can't remember which name it went by or who made it[

I think you'll find the Big Brother, kind of fitting name for a engine from a communist country, is a 57cc.
I ran my MT 50 today. This engine new out of the box started second flip.
I only ran 3 tanks through it, we could use a little more global warming here in NJ please. This engine idled at 1100 rpm for 5 minutes then I popped the throttle open it peaked at 6850 rpm. It still needs break-in though so I may be looking a 7000 soon. I've never seen a engine idle this well, I'm a happy guy today.

Is this with ignition, stand offs and muffler installed? I only ask because the LS Pro site lists the AUW as 4lb 4oz. 10oz is quite a difference on an engine this size and could be the difference between going for it or not.
Thanks,
Mark

Hey there I understand that the Vess has no conventional pitch as it is not constant, but is the "A" a comparative equivalent of a 8 or 10 pitch? Then again I read that the readings that a Vess prop gives on the ground are kind of irrelevant in compare to the performance in the air. I have two MT 50s (the older kind) and the engines are very smooth performers.
