Default Brison 4.2

Hi I was wondering if some people could tell me what are some rpm readings with what props and at what altitudes with the Brison 4.2(69cc).

Thanks

Hey, smokey, your in luck, I've been flying a Lanier Extra 330, 20.5 lbs. one of the cheap ones Tower sold last winter, mounted an old A&M Sachs 4.2 on it. I wasn't sure if the engine would have enough for the plane, but she needed a home, I have not been disappointed.
I did the initial flights and maiden on the 24X10, then switched to the 22X12, I was really impressed with the 12, but broke it on a not so hot landing. I decided to run the 8X14 and have 4 flights on it and have been quite happy with it. It will take the Extra straight out of sight from about a 100 ft. roll out on take-off. I'm not to hot doing 3D, so I'm not sure about that, my impression is it's probably maginal doing 3D. Doesn't act as though it's as strong as my Brison 3.2 mounted on a PAU Edge.

Zinger 24X106100 rpm.
Zinger 22X126300 rpm
Zinger 22X8-146200 rpm

What is the auw of the edge. Are the rpm readings you listed from the brison. How high are you flying above sea level.

Man those #'s are terrible for a 4.2 [X(] I don't know about the others but I have a Zinger 22 - 8/14 and tried it on my Taurus 3.2 = 6500 rpm's.

Hi,Gentlemen, smokey, the auw of the Edge is 17.2 lbs. about where most of the PAU Edges fall I think, at least that is what has been listed on here. I'm not sure of the sea level, I believe it's somwhere about 900' above.
Don M. your absoulutely right the nos. are sure not something to right home about, but it is what it is! You should take into concideration, this is the A&M version, it does not have the cantiliver crank. One of my flying friends has the Brison 4.2 and his engine on the 24X10 was 4-500 rpms better. So if your running the Brison 4.2 add that to my numbers, should be more respectful.

Thanks for the numbers. was seeing how this would compare to the zenoah 80 in a lanier staudacher. The plane weighs 14.55 lbs without anything in it.

A 14.5 lbs. air plane will be some serious over kill? There comes point where descresion is the better part of valor. Are you sure the airframe can handle that much power? Judicious use of the right thumb might be logical choice for flying that plane.

I have flown many over powered airlanes, some were not at all fun to fly, point of fact, a GP Christen Eagle with a 52 cc engine is way over kill.

But you do what you feel comfortable with, more power to ya'.

Glad I could be of some assistance.

The plane weighs 14.55 lbs without anything in it. This means no servos, no batts, no engine, Nothing at all just the bare airframe
