Since we do not market the 26, we do not carry parts for them except
the pitts muffler.
On the one's we do market, we stock only the complete carb, not
the internal parts.

Just for the record, I have an RCGF 20cc side draft, and it runs great! Turns a 16x6 APC in the 9's, starts in about 5 flips, and is getting stronger every tank. I have a rear-draft version and will put it in a TF .60 sized P-40 this Winter. A good product.

became a distributor for them.
Since we had so many customers asking us to carry the rear carb platform,
we decided to market them only.
Thanks Again

It was nice to hear that someone had been kind enough to say something positive about RCGF.
We have made a decision to get more active in the forums at some of our
customers request. As they want all to know the truth.

By your statement above you are implying that people that have reported numerous issues with RCGF are liars. I cannot comprehend how you can willfully do that since, by your own admissions, you have come into the RCGF game a bit late. I've owned two RCGF 100's and worked on and with a couple of smaller engines, the last being an RCGF 26 that fell apart in the air. It's still available for repair if RCGF ever wants to do something about it. I suggest you go back through the several RCGF threads a couple of years and do some reading. You'll note how I tried to give RCGF a fair shake but did not ever obtain an engine that met even "average" quality standards.
Perhaps, just perhaps, you and Al have managed to do what no other engineer, distributor, or specialist before you has managed to do. Compel RCGF to repeatedly make a good product. If so, kudos to you. However, if the plan is just to market a cheap product with a fairly high margin, then shame on you.
I wish you the best of luck with your endeavor, but calling people having a lot of experience with the product line liars is not a way to gain much in the way of support. You can be assured I'll never be one to purchase your wares.
Sincerely,
Pat

Long time no hear.
It is a post like this that has steered me away from the forums for a long time.
However, I am willing to try this again, only to help answer questions for
not only the newbies, but for the experienced, as time permits.
Please take note that I am calling no one a liar.
Sounds to me like all of the one's that had problems, were real problems.
I know RCGF was not ready for prime time 4 years ago when we first looked
at them. However Pat, I now know they FINALLY got their act together.
The last thing we want to do is market a brand of engines that will upset the
customer and provide my partner and I a bunch of unnecessary work to do.
We have well over 150 of the latest RCGF engines in the field, with only 2 returned.
One was the customers fault (which we charged him nothing to fix),
the other was in a crash.
On to the money:
Cost vs retail price, there is no big money in this business.
Why do you think our prices are so low. Rock bottom margin!
So far this year it has paid for my car payment. My partner has
received nothing (so far, or he will kick my *****). LOL
Concerning Al:
Al has done more for SERCE than any other person we have worked with.
He gets paid nothing and has access to tools we only dream of having.
After he has finished his testing, if we say yes and he says no, we don't sell it.
That is the reason we do not stock the 45cc.
As far as our character and what we have done for the R/C community:
So far this year we have sponsored 6 events and have given away 14 engines.
Most for the events and a few for the unfortunate ones that could not afford
an engine. Two of which were kids that were doing good in school.
Not to mention the Props, Tachs, Opto-Kills, etc.
The most recent event was the Tiffin,Ohio Big Bird event last weekend.
Someone uploaded pictures on FG.
We sponsor three(soon to be four) pilots that pay us nothing for
our products.
So Pat, as you can see, we have come a long way.
I hope this answers your questions/concerns.
If you are interested in looking at one of these engines, give us a call.
Maybe we could work something out.
Thanks

Ron,
Thanks for the response. It made your earlier post sit a little better. I trust Al completely and I hope you all do well with the product line. It would be nice to see that a change took place for the better.
I appreciate your offer of an engine but I rarely fly anything smaller than 100cc class planes anymore. I have a 30cc class plane with another brand of engine but I'm hard pressed to find time to fly anything at all for a little bit. Again, thanks for the offer but I must respectfully decline.

RE: RCGF Engines
Now I dont Know about the rest of you guy's out there But I have an RCGF 26cc it is my first Gas engine and it has run very good from the first start up until the day My plane crashed at no fault of the engine lets call it pilot error . My problem with RCGF is that I have been trying to find parts for my 26cc for about 6 weeks now with no luck . it seems no one has any in stock well at least no one with a reasonable asking price that is . the Crank case back plate is also the motor mount and without that the engine cant even be mounted to my rebuilt giant P47D . Thats my two cents worth any way
Cheers.

I honestly appreciate your thoughts.
You will be happy to know that we will be testing the new RCGF-111 twin
in a couple weeks from now.
We will do our testing here and than it will be shipped to Al for his tear down
approval.
Looking forward to working with RCGF on their newest product.
Take care and if we could help you in anyway down the road,
just let us know.

RE: RCGF Engines
I have a RCGF 26cc that I bought from TBM about two years ago. The engine was in the crash were rear crankcase was damaged. I think the cast was not that good to begin with, since the wooden prop was not damaged in the accident but the two standoff ears broke away... The parts from BP did not match the design I've bought from TBM. In addition to new rear case, I had to buy front crankcase and reed block cage to be able to repair this engine. There were also difference in the bolt size to put it all together At the same time the parts that I bought from BP were well machined and engine looks and runs better than ever. I'm also very pleased with BP shipping rates, very low compared to some other vendors.

RE: RCGF Engines
Sorry, but I don’t want to dismantle the engine. When I bought rear case and realized that this is different design I’ve purchased front case and reed cage to make it work. At that time BP had all the parts in stock.

Anyone have experience with the RCGF 32cc engine? I've got a 26cc in my ESM P-51, but a little more power would be nice. I'm not sure how hard retrofitting the 32cc engine would be, though. Any thoughts?

RE: RCGF Engines
Hi Guys
I have the RCGF 45 and I’m having a real problem setting up a throttle linkage.
I need to turn the carb through 90 degrees, but I notice the insulator block only has two metal inserts out of the four possible bolt holes.
Does anyone know if you can use the holes without the metal inserts or if they made an insulator block with inserts in all four holes.
Thanks
Falcon
