I have a G-26 on magneto that stopped in mid-flight. When I hold the body of a new plug against the cylinder and spin the engine with a starter, no spark ! Kill switch has been removed from the circuit.
Where do I begin to look ?
Can the magneto coil, and the CE coil be Ohmed out, and verified ?
What's the normal trouble shooting procedure to isolate my problem ?
Thanks in advance.

Mags are pretty simple. Condensers seldom give you trouble, check the points making sure they are gapped correctly. I don't know what resistance reading you should get across the primary coil windings but if you don't get some reading you have an open circuit and the coil is bad. There's a remote chance that the permanent magnets in the rotor may need to be remagnitized - if there is a shop that still does that.

A Zenoah G26 does not have any points or condensers. Most likely the gap between the magneto and the coil is too wide. That gap should be about the thickness of a business card.
What did you do with the black wire comeing off the coil that was not connected to anything? You refered to this in another post, disconnect it from everything and see if the engine runs.

Ahh found it ! Single prong connector in red wire between the two coils not making contact. Re-crimped. Problem solved !
Runs like a screamin demon.
