Default How to choke an Evolution 26 inside a cowling??

I am installing this motor in the H9 big cub and I am wondering how I will choke it. What are you guys doing to choke it, if you cannot reach the carb??

Hi; Try putting your finger over the exhaust when you prime it or make carb plug on a rod that your ground crew can hold over the carb while you prime the engine.

I have the same problem with my 1/3rd Cub andI now use a primer bottle which is made in England butI bought it at Toledo. It has a nice small shut off valve on the end of the nozzle.

Good luck.. </p>

I changed the chokeshaft and put a detent ball and spring in it, got rid of the return spring to make it work like the choke on my other gas engines. here's the part numbers you will need:

<span style="font-size: 10pt;" arial="" sans-serif="">ea 40-922-1 Choke Arm Shaft ($3.82)<o></o></span><![endif]><p style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt;" arial="" sans-serif="">1ea 89-13-8 Steel Detent Ball .125DIA. ($0.41)<o></o></span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt;" arial="" sans-serif="">1ea 98-162-7 Detent Friction Spring ($0.49) <o></o></span></p>Find any local mower or saw shop and get them to order the parts for you.
