I think it was many many pages ago, but there was a discussion about the DLE stickers. Apparently the rumor that they were no longer putting a sticker in the box with the engines is true. I received my DLE30 today. No sticker. I emailed them a long time ago to see if I could buy some decals from them and they said that the only way to get the sticker is to buy an engine. I guess they dont want anyone to know that their product is powering airplanes. Maybe there is a reason they want to under cover...oh well...

A couple of weeks ago the DLE engine in my Top Flight Mustang quit. I was able to land gear up on the grass field so minimal damage. Upon investigation, the throttle shaft broke in the middle at the location of the screw hole. Throttle plate and screw were caught in the reed valve so not ingested into engine. It seems no one in the US or Asia has a DLE carb in stock. Tower says Late July. It is real late July and no carbs. So I found an old carb in my misc parts box. Took it apart and put all the DLE carb parts in. Diafram, pump, cover, metering valve and spring. This carb has a smaller venturi about 9.7 mm the DLE 11.1 I think. To my surprise, it started and with just a little tuning, ran good. Not sure if I lost any top end rpm because of smaller venturi but will find out. Also I don't know the part number of the comparable Walbro carb. I think the old carb I used came on a RCGF 20cc.

Update to the Decal post I made. I opened the manual today and some stickers fell out. They are different though. I like the old one better. There is one ugly blue oval sticker that just says DLE. The other two are kinda cool. One says "powered by DLE" and the ther says "DLE-30". We'll see what they are currently doing with the DLE20 as far as stickers. Ill probably be ordering one next week.

Cool. That's the one that came with my last DLE20. I like that sticker the best. Unfortunately is was not salvagable. More importantly the motor was!
The stickers that came with the 30 were cool. But the blue oval one is pretty generic.
I still cannot understand why they will not sell decals. Why wouldnt they want advertisement. That the best adverstisement you could ask for. And people would be paying them to do their advertising!

I ran the DLE 20 with the smaller carb venturi, couldn't tell any difference in performance. Not enough difference to notice.

tailskid - It's out of my driving range, and probably out of my price range, but can I ask what the wingspan is and what you're asking for it? Did you post it here on Buy and Sell? That seems to be a good forum.
Can you post some pics, too?

haha. look like the guy with the cool plane get the cute girls!
The checkering something that you guys did or was that done by the factory? Its not on the one pictured on the horizon site. It looks good. Gives it some flare...
400 for the airframe huh? what do you think it would cost me to get a used motor and some servos to run that beast. Im going to colorado in october, maybe I could make a slight detour haha!

You would need some macho servos for this bird....we used JR 8411's if I remember correctly...I would recommend a 100cc engine for this bad boy and from what I hear DLE is a good one.
Yeah, the checkers were added to give it a bit of zing...

Alright, hello guys. I have a stupid question but I just bought my first gasser, a DLE 30cc. It calls for 32:1 oil for break in.<div>My math tells me that is 8.25 ounces of oil per gallon of gas? Is that right? Thx.</div>
