Well I did finally maiden the slick last Monday. First flight took off in 10 feet, flew around twice but esc cut out and motor quit. Perfect landing. I believe the esc got hot and cut out. Took the cowl off and fresh pack of batteries and went up again. Did a 5 minute timed flight and noticed I could not get it to trim out. Found out on landing, one servo in the wing was bad and had locked up. Waiting on my replacement servo to get here and will do a few more flights. Also added more airflow to the esc. I didn't really get to feel it out much. Can't wait to fly it some more.

I'm running 4020 in the wings on my MX 2

my throttle servo went out on me Friday. So I'm thinking about a 4013 for throttle

I have the BMS-28a from HobbyKing. Super strong and maybe a little overkill but they are sending a replacement.

The 4013 is an excellent choice. Too often I see guys using cheap servos saying "it's just the throttle" because they don't understand the importance of torques, load, and speed required to modulate the throttle accurately. I always use a high quality servo with decent speed and torque on mine.

Looks like an excellent choice! I always error on the overkill side. Beats under spec'ing and the results there of...

ps - I'm looking forward to owning this plane - waiting for the yellow variant to be stocked again. Please post your flight videos so that I can live vicariously through you guys.

Not trying to hi-jack your thread but, just test flew my Fly-model 50CC Sbach and all I can say is wow!! XQ power 4020 servos throughout, DLE55, 2-2100mah liFe packs through powerbox from redwing. Very, very happy. I will be getting one of his 50CC slickery.

Jerry,
Any chance you could verify that a DLE-55RA would fit? I read a thread someplace that you would have to remove almost the whole firewall to fit the carb. Any measurements from firewall to cowl front?
Thanks for the info, I'm only waiting this info to pull the trigger on the 50cc Slick!

You can simply go to my complete build thread on RC Groups and get your answer and then some...

BTW - I have the DLE55-RA on mine.
