RB should have a Hobbs for his hands to determine how long this build is taking (going to take).
I might have to find an excuse to venture down to Decatur to have a look..

Panel layout taken from:www.airliners.net
I realize it is way off scale....but you will only be able to see the panel from the side windows once completed.
PJ......The Garmins are even approach certified.......
The hobbs is on back order from East Coast Avionics.........

There are a lot of panel kits out there for the more popular planes in 1/5 and 1/4 scale.
Here is a pic of the throttle quadrant I built today over lunch hour...............complete with hobbs!!!!!!

This airplane is just amazing, I nearly hate you for making it look so easy!
It seems to me that you are moving along very quickly for being such a large undertaking, I cannot wait to see the progress.

I am putting together a 1/7 scale though.
Oh well, really its practice for when i build my 1/4 scale.
Nice panel, thanks for throwing the hobbs on. Now the flying club can bill everyone correctly.

Hi Ron,
My name is Saul & I am really enjoying the thread. I'd like to make one request. Could you please include even more photos of the assembly process. I too have the 27% plans & your photos are VERY helpful.
Thanks
Saul

I believe you are talking about the foam he used to form up to the LE of the horizontal stab. Not sure what kind of foam it is, but I'm guessing that's what it is.

That is simply dense foam insulation. Much easier to shape than to sheet this area with balsa. Once final sanding is complete, the foam will be covered with glass cloth and West Systems epoxy resin.
The build has slowed, as I am waiting for the new Wren 44 Turboprops to arrive, which will be sometime later this summer.
cheers,

Up next....front & rear wing spar construction. Some of the supplied plywood does not fit to my satisfaction, so I'll be off to the "lumber yard" this weekend.

Whoops! So much for the smorgasboard! I didn't see you posted that. I sent you a PM, and you must have missed that too. Oh well! Comon RB, get this baby moving!
