Fuel Dot Installation
I had a leaking fuel valve and decided to go the fuel dot route. Not desiring to put in a third tank line I went with the T connector setup. My engine now fills with fuel (Webra 120) now and I have no draw when emptying the tank through the fill line. Is there anything I can do besides install the third line? I have a check valve but do not know if that will correct both problems....

Caf,
Some suggestions:
1st,when you tried to empty the tank did you have the carb fully closed?
This is by far the best method to date:
Go with the 3rd line to the tank, and put clunk on end. And forget it!!

Hey Daz,
Odd question. I am just about to go the 3rd line route, but was wondering about the clunk. Any chance the two "clunked" lines would get tangled? You know, all that spinning and looping, etc.

Without the third line all you can do is clamp off the tubing between the T-piece and the carb. Hemostats (long tweezer like things with a locking mechanism) reaching in through a cooling intake hole are good for this.

Thanks for the replies. Tearing the tank out....what a pain. Will go the third line route. I am worried about the tangling. Do I make the third line clunk line shorter?

caf2461, if your worried about tangling. Spread the brass tubes on the inside of tank apart slightly, and again use med fuel line, and make both lines able to reach the back of the tank fully.
After assembling your tank shake it around and see, it wont tangle at all, even if you tried to tangle them. Daz...

Fuel Dot Installation
I have one of the fuel dots on my trainer. I don't really like it. It has better applications than a trainer, like on a cowled engine but I'd rather unhook the fuel filter and fill that way. Just seems like more potential for leaks. I don't like the idea of the electronics swimming in fuel.

You really don't need to put in the third line. Just clamp the line to the carb and fill. If your vent is at the top of the tank you won't have a problem. If you are using a check valve on the pressure side, you will need 2 fuel dots. 1 for vent and 1 for fill. This is a common set-up for people using pumped engines.
