After having a NIB a Wankel 30 for a while, last night I decided to install it on a plane. This morning I flew it, it had great power and was able to hover my 300 3D: What a jewel!!!
However, the day ended in a bad and sad note: The plane hit the only damned power pole I was doing a dead stick landing far from the field, the result is that the muffler hit with such force that it broke it's attachment point to the engine,,,, In fact: It's the little tube "thing" that protrudes from the engine casing.... Any sugestions???:::
-Can I run it like that? (but waht about the mess)
-Can I buy another casing? (but,,, do I need another rotor as well?)
-Can It be tig welded?
-Can I insert something it else from the inside? (reducing it inner diameter)
Any parts for sale?
Your sugestions are welcome. Thank you in advance.

1. I would not run it like that!
2. You Could, but i would send it back to Hobby Services
3. No it can not be Tig (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welded, because the tolerances have to be just right!
4. I don't know what your talking about really, but i would not try it!
You can buy parts from towerhobbies parts section here is the link for the wankel parts section: [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0005p?&I=OSMG1400&P=Z]Wankel Parts[/link] Enjoy!

Maybe you could bore out the casting and tap a thread, then make up a threaded insert. TIG welding will most probably get the casting to hot and if the weld area isn't 100% oil free you will end up with a porous weak weld.
good luck with whatever you end up doing.
