Default GLow plug thread size?

Hello Folks.
I need to find out the thread size of a glow plug.Someone told me 1/4 x28 so it's not.
If anybody knows for sure please help out with advise.

They are 1/4-32.

They are indeed 1/4 -32. Taps can usually be had from a large fastener house over the counter. In smaller towns the local hardware can usually have one for you in a weeks time.
Also several hobby hardware supplier stock them.
You might also consider purchasing a 1/4-32 die at the same time to chase the threads on glowplugs prior to installation. It can save damage to a head caused from rough threads on the plug body.

Went to the ace,sears and went to the machine shop at work.They never heared of 1/4x32.Are we talking about 1/4x32 NPT??
Please advice.

Its not a tapered thread. 1/4x32 taps and dies should be available at any serious machine supply house (not a hardware store) and Harry Higley sells them also through hobby shops.

Try an industrial supplier, ie, that sells to machine shops. They are not that uncommon...

Micro fasteners also sells a tap and a die.

Both the tap and die are available from Tower Hobbies.
