AO: I just did some research and discovered the idle needle for the FS400 is the same for the FT160, according to Conrad Deutschland which had the FS400 part cross-referenced to the FT-160.

And, Hobby People has the part in stock!

Thank you Kmot! I did actually end up at that website earlier this afternoon and ordered a few of those! I figured the Magnums are the same as the ASP's and the 400R is based on .80 jug. I recalled all that from earlier discussions on this forum... Very helpful forum indeed, thanks again.

Wonder how well it is running on gas.. Interesting!!
I asked the seller ,Actually it was running on alcohol with 16% two stroke oil ,but the carb could be adjusted for gas he said.

The manual says 2 turns out on the low speed needle. This did not work at all on my engine. I took the carb off and looked at the spray bar while opening the low speed needle. At 2 turns the needle was still essentially closed. The engine finally idled well at 12-13 turns open which look correct if you look at the spray bar opening. I started at 3 turns and opened one turn at a time till it ran at idle. The high sped needle works at about 3 turns open. Still having the lower 2 cylinders cut out while flying even with the on board glow on. I tried a smaller prop as has been suggested (went from 20x10 to 19x8) without improvement. Any suggestions out there? Thanks

I am flying with it with about 2,5 turns open highspeed needle ,and the idle needle about 5,5 turns closed from fully open (unscrew all the way out ,then turn in clockwise 5.5 turns)

The idle needle is essential ,it must not be too lean or too rich ,you have to experiment with the engine running ,and it is described in the manual.

Good luck!

If it was running so well, why is he selling?

Here is a link to what I think is a SEIDEL 250 gas radial!!
The film is in German but can easily be followed, the craftmanship
is awesome. Listen to that thing scream at the end !!!

TO WATCH: double click on DSL
Then close the movie by clicking on FENSTER SCHLIEßEN
On the remaining window click on THEMEN
Move the mouse towards the tail of the A10 and a window
will enlarge; click on the desired film !!!

http://www.modellfliegerkanal.de/

The jet show movie is also very good
Let me know if you agree that it is a gasser.

That was a very entertaining video of a FW-190 build from scratch and a tour of the Seidel factory. Thank you!

Here is the direct link to the video:

Attention all you Radial heads out there!!

I would like to install the Saito R325 in the Jerry Bates 80" Bearcat. The engine will fit in the cowl.

Dose anybody know if that engine has been used in a similar size war bird? I've only seen Stearman's and that un-cowled Sea Fury on YouTube.

I dont' want or need it to be overpowered... Just a little faster than scale.... You know... A good looking low pass.

Thanks for the help.

If you have a long runway for the landing it is probably ok. I have used my asp 400 on a 175 cm pitts biplane ,and it was a bit heavy when it came to landing. Thats my experience .

Around 8 kg i think , now i am flying it with a 50 cc gas ,1660 gram heavy , and it is almost half of the weight of the ASP ,so it is kinda significant. The Pitts is still very difficult to land on my short field (75 m) ,but its better.

I am thinking of the PACAERO 27% GEEBEE as a plane for my ASP , they say it flies very nice an calm

What's the point of producing a video of a radial powered model, and have nothing but a goofy music soundtrack to listen too and NO sounds of the engine??? [:'(]

Well, I give the first video an A for artistic tallent. A lot of effort seems to have gone into it's creation. The fast motion captures all of the content that savex wanted to convey without boring us with 35 minues of video. The music was entertaining.

Being a radial guy, that I was captivated by the second video more. And thanks for providing it to us in a format that we can download too!

I am looking for a NIB or slightly used, excellent 215 thru 250 radial. If anybody is wanting to sell one, let me know.
