Default Moki 2.10 questions

I just picked up a used MOKI 2.10. What size prop should I use? I'm thinking 20x10 MA classic series as this is going onto a WM giant Mustang. Also, What glow plug works best. I have never had an engine of this size.

Very nice looking engine!!

Default Moki 2.10 questions

MIKE: I HAVE BEEN RUNNING MOKI'S FOR SOME YEARS AND FOUND THE 210 WORKS WELL ON A 20/8 TOO A 20/10 PROP. PREFERABLY WOOD.
I HAVE IN THE PAST USED A OS TYPE
F GLOW PLUG BUT IF THE ENGINE IS BROKEN IN WELL I USE THE ENYA 3 WITH
EXCELLENT RESULTS. SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW IS THE MOKI'S USE FAI OR 5% FUEL ONLY. I USE WILDCAT PREMIUM FUEL ONLY. THIS HAS A 80/20
SYNTHETIC AND CASTOR MIX. IT WORKS GREAT. ALSO USE 5/32 FUEL LINE FROM THE CLUNK TO THE CARB. YOU WILL NEED TO DRILL OUT THE CLUNK TO 5/32 ALSO. I HAVE FOUND THIS COMBINATION TO WORK PERFECT.
HOPE THIS HELPS. IT WORKS FOR ALL THE MOKI'S I OWN AND ALL THE GUYS THAT FLY MOKI'S WITH ME.

Great! Thank you! Good to know about drilling out the clunk. Also good to hear about the low nitro fuel, that should save some $.

I planned on using a synthetic oil fuel. Any thoughts on that? I hate the tanishing affect of castor.

Also, what exactly does "FAI" mean??

MIKE: I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND 80/20 BUT THAT IS YOUR CALL. I HAVE FOUND THAT CASTOR REMOVES MORE HEAT THROUGH THE EXHAUST AND SAVES YOU IN CASE OF A LEAN RUN. I HAVE HAD ENGINES THAT I HAVE TAKEN APART FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER AND FOUND THE INSIDE LIKE NEW. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO USING CASTOR BLEND FUELS.
IN REGARDS TO FAI. FAI IS A FUEL THAT HAS NO NITRO. THE EUROPEANS USE IT BECAUSE OF THE PRICE OF NITRO IN EUROPE IS SO EXPENSIVE.
I CAN SPELL WHAT THEY REALLY CALL IT, SORRY.

Hers' how I start mine: Prime it till there's fuel coming out of the carb, then close the throttle and flip a few times. Then go to idle throttle and attach glow igniter. I use a chicken stick and hit the prop backwards against compression. If there is fuel in the cylinder it will fire. I can also start it by grabbing the spinner and twisting it backwards against compression. A good demonstration of that technique is shown on the H9 Edge video on www.3dbatix.com and is an acceptable method. Hope this helps.

sawyer692,
I too have a Moki 210 and the instructions read that you must use fuel with some castor. It clearly says never use straight synthetic. I've been using 5% powermaster and the OS F plug (engine inverted).

Default Plugs

It is interesting that you folks are using what is normally considered to be a four stroke plug in your big two strokes. My last two MDS engines, a .68 and a 2.18 both came with Hangar 9 Super Plugs which are fourstroke plugs also. Both have a really great idle with that plug. I run Fox 5% with 20%-50/50 lube in them.
