Sorry cant post the picture. I can say though the the "SC" is very big on the case, it does not seem to be a manufacturing code or something like that, it actually looks as if it be like the "OS" motors, but instead of the "OS" is the "SC" I fo you know what I mean. I do know that it is a .40

Its an SC. Also known as "Super Custom" glow engines.
South Aero Engine Company makes them in Zhuzhou Hunan China.
The motors are also sold as ASP, SY, and under other names. Clever marketing from the chinese - why restrict yourself to one distributor for your product when you can have 2 or 3?
I have owned three or four SC / ASP's in the past. I then developed a taste for the expensive ...
SC's are popular budget motors in the UK and Australia. They seem to be OK although they are not up to Super Tigre, OS, Irvine etc in finish. They have good piston / liner fits in the ABC variants with true chrome plating that doesn't seem to peel. But carbs on these motors can be hit and miss. Many put OS carbs on them if they get a poor carb on theirs. The cranskhafts are also not surface hardened. Good news - can be straightened if bent a little out of true in a hard landing. Bad news - they can fail if under severe stress. I broke 2 crankshafts when I dieselised my SC 46 and 32. I went back to glow operation for these motors after that.
I still have my old SC 32. I believe the quality of these engines is improving all of the time. The latest run are now copying all aspects of the OS "FX" design (ie semi-square heads, rnv, etc).
I think J Perkins Distributes them un the UK. I don't have a website for SC but if you want to look at them go to www.justengines.org.unseen and click on the ASP engines button. They are exactly the same motor as the SC's.

Thanks alot for the info, but you don't perhaps have a website for this?
I am also looking for tips on how to clean and look after glow fuel motors, do you perhaps have some info on this?

Can you give me some more info on which carbs will fit an SC 46? I have one with rear needle. It works ok, but I have trouble tuning it at the bottom end. One problem may be that my fuel tank is slightly low (top of tank is at approx. needle height), but I can not get it any higher....
Someone adviced me to get another carb, and I am willing to give that a try. The carb that came with the engine does not fill me with confidence, the barrel can be moved slightly in and out, which makes me think that if the engine vibrates while running the bottom end may be adjusting itself constantly
Any info on replacement carbs would be appreciated!
thanks

Hi!
What neck dimension do you have 12mm, 13mm or what!!
MVVS makes good carbs that have 13mm necks!
They cost around $25.00

Try Jan (posts as "jaka") above, or Paul at Just Engines:
www.justengines.co.uk
Paul stocks a good line of replacement carbs. His business is located in Cumbria now, a bit north of you! His replacement carbs. are manufactured by Leo (I think) and look to be quite good. I bought one for a 4 stroke motor I have and it works just fine.
It seems to be a copy of the well respected OS 4D twin needle design.
Cheers

13.95mm - (MDS) £17.50
14mm, 15mm, or 16mm £17.95
MVVS Carbs 7mm for .21-.53
8mm for .45-.61 (or high rpm .21-.53)
13mm fitting £17
13.95 (MDS) £19.50
14, 15 or 16mm £19.95
'Series 3' Carbs 7.5mm venturi - for .40-.53
13mm fitting £15
13.95mm - (MDS) £17.50
14mm, 15mm, or 16mm £17.95
