Never had the 1.0 had several .46NT .46 NXand a .52 NX. Evo makes good engines, have gotten one dud but it was replaced readily. Evos are great engines, first flip start almost all the time. FOLLOWTHEINSTURCTIONS.... people like to remove the needle valve stop(the little black peg) and such on the high and low ends. They are there for a reason. Had a guy ruin one for me by doing that.... didnt even offer to replace it. It was right after Igot back into RCand he was like "No No it will be fine", I told him it must be there for a reason and Ididnt think we should remove it. Well out came his needle nose and out came the pin. Well ruined the engine, he said well Iwas helping you so you knew the risks. Such a a-hole...
, Ithink you will be VERYhappy with it, go for it and price is right. they donnt have quite the power of an OSax but not that much of a difference.

CastorTroy- I have to have a big old friendly disagreement with your comments on the .46NT...from my own experiences.<div>
</div><div>First, my NT had a noticeably more power than the .46FX that was on the model previously. This was on the first tank of fuel. It even got better as the engine broke in. </div><div>
</div><div>You can also ruin an engine with the limiters on too if they are factory set too lean for your conditions. Personally, I can't stand them and they get removed once I know the engine will crank and run. The muffler baffle also gets the heave ho.</div><div>
</div><div>I instruct a class on r/c and I chose 6 .46NTs for the engines we use. And, I have the one I bought when they first came out.</div>

</div><div>I forgot to mention that the .46NTs need a hot plug to burn all of the fuel, and the OS A3 is a very good one for this engine. It will start better than ever, transition better, and have much more power.</div><div>
</div><div>You are one of the first that I heard say theirs was adjusted just right. Most people say they are off by a long shot. My personal engine is one of the early models that had collars for the high speed needle valve setting. I removed it. Now, you have to grind down the little pin that is pressed into the adjustment knob end. That takes only a few seconds though.</div><div>
</div><div>You asked something that will start a major war, but this is just my opinion; the .46NT has much more quality than the AX. I would have to look up the details on the crankshaft of the AX, but the NT is a milled single piece. The liner is chrome plated, and regardless of what anyone says to the contrary, chrome is better than the nickel that OS uses. If you look at repair parts costs, OS prices themselves out of all reason...imo. I've bought a new Evolution crankcase and crankshaft for $42 shipped, and the comparable OS parts were over $100. Something to consider....</div>

I have a 100 I bought used off RCU,the limiters were removed just took a bit of running and adjusting to run reliably. It runs best on a hot plug and has lots of power. The reason I used it was the extra weight needed to balance plane.I fly it 1/2 to 2/3 throttle in a 8 1/2 lb fw190.
A fellow in our club bought a new 100 put it on a p47, used the inverted muffler. It ran great from start ,smooth transition, great idle ,lots of power and with hardly any adjustment, limiters wre left in place.
My personal experience I would not buy another one but the reason would be because of the weight,in most cases it seems too heavy but for my plane it worked fine.
