Will do. Might be a bit. Still below freezing here with weather gone to crap again. Has been one of the wost winters I can ever remember. Other problem is the back yard is a mess, so running out of places to fire up the engine, (front yard also getting torn up as new water main going in this week).
Hopefully this season is also a lot drier than last. We lost over a month and a half with constant rain, and I mean EVERY FRIGGIN' DAY!

Hey I can relate! I live just a bit north of you and it is snowing here again today! At this rate we will be lucky to get on the field before May! The indoor flying is not cutting it anymore, and we need a good fix of flying big noise making planes outdoors, on a green field!
Mitch that is really great news! Watching you fly will be the highlight of the show for me no doubt. I have the fuselage framed up on my 33% Barth. Just ordered the Moki last week and plugging along. Counting the days to Top Gun and hoping to learn as much as I can.

Just for fun- I maidened my friends GP Waco the other day with the Saito 33R3 gasser on the nose. Let me start by telling you, that little Saito is a chunk of metal! We balanced the airframe with what seemed slightly nose-heavy, got the motor tuned as best we could- I backed out the high speed needle a FULL 4 turns from factory recommendations (I thought the needle was going to fall out) and could not over-rich the mixture. But, we did see a 400 RPM gain. I believe this little motor needs a seperate fuel pump to operate correctly. First flight the plane flew like a heavy pig. We ended up giving the motor 2 degrees of down thrust, and adding about 3-4oz to the tail. The airframe was transformed. It flew much better, but still felt a little piggy. My friend was hoping it would fly more like a big floaty Cub, but instead it feels like a heavy Warbird in the air. I felt comfortable with it, but my friend still feels slightly overwhelmed when flying it. So, the new plan is to drop the Saito, and the weight on the tail. Then slap a DLE-30 RA on the nose (24oz weight savings). We're hoping the weight loss will make the airframe more manageable, and less scary for my buddy. Not to mention- eliminating the need for a expensive fuel pump and more additional weight. He did tell me that if he can't get it dialed into his flying style he would just "give" me the airplane... I want him to be happy with his plane, but I wouldn't mind having it either! I guess so long as he lets me fly it's like having my cake and eating it too!
Anyway- a couple pics with my 120cc 1/3 Super Cub in the background.

Thanks!
Please, don't hate me... But my Cub flies in unconventional ways! Rolling loops, knife edge spins, super flat spins, knife edge loops, etc.. I have a 2nd place flying this plane in Sportsman IMAC, not to mention a first in freestyle Life is good...

Hi All !!!!
I have the chance to buy a Pica 1/6 Waco YMF3 60inch plane. The plane is already built but is looking a little rough !! If i decide to buy it i would like to do it up. So was wondering are parts available for this plane? ie cowling, wheel pants and anything else i might need. Plus what motor would you put in it ? keeping in mind i dont want the motor poking through the cowling! (I Love the scale look )
Thanks Tim

Fiberglass Specialties makes cowls and wheelpants for the 1/5 and 1/6 Pica Waco:
http://www.fiberglassspecialtiesinc.com/catalog.htm
In fact, had they been at Toledo this weekend I would have grabbed a new cowl with blisters for my 1/5.
As for power, before I sold my nearly complete 1/6 Pica, I had intended to fit one of my spare OS 91 Surpass. Cannot remember if it would have protruded. Although I avoid running my engines inverted, you do have that option if you want to minimize disturbing the look. Luckily, by careful orientation the Saito 125a rocker boxes fit within the blisters in my cowl. Only reason I want a new one is the previous owner cut it to mount an OS 120S and the engines are completely different.

You may want to think about building the 1/5 scale Waco (72” wing) the plans and temples are all available threw the AMA. It’s a perfect size for a gas engine. Just a thought.

Hi Dan
I have a 1/5 Waco kit still in its box waiting to be built ! I kinda want to get the 1/6 to use it as a everyday plane. And if i do up the 1/6 when it comes to building the 1/5 I will do a better job with it. (you will alway do a better job second time round) Thanks for the info !!!!!!

Yeah, I can relate to the monotony of that. Sun's out again today, no clouds in the sky, no wind to speak of:-)))))))))))))))))))))) AGAIN.
