Hi:
I found a almost brand new MX 400 with all electronics installed and the Futaba servos, gyro and TX, all paper work and boxes. The helimax motor crapped out before I could get it in the air. I went to the Local Hobby shop and the motor they had (the same as installed) did not work also. Tried another motor and spun up like a champ. Problem isolated. I ordered a Scorpion HK-2221-12 which is a little more efficient that the Helimax 6 pole brushless (no specs available). So in a few days I should have an ability to see the toy get off the ground.
Question for any of you who have experience with this heli, have you installed the CCPM up grade kit, or any of the aluminium parts? If so how much does it shorten the cpntrol arms from the servos? Any one have a copy of the upgrade instructions so I can get a feel for how hard it is.
Has anyone tried a ProtekRC Lo-Po Transmitter B attery yet?
Regards to all,
Paul

Paul- the CCPM change involves replacing the swash and frames. It's a pretty significant change to the heli so it's essentially taking the heli apart, reassembling it with the new parts, and then retuning the transmitter and head setup. You should make sure your radio has CCPM programming available by the way; the recent Futabas do, but if it's an older one it may not.
On the plus side, the conversion from mechanical to CCPM gets rid of a lot of weight and complexity, so I think it's a worthwhile thing, and if you've never taken a heli apart the experience will be good for you.

Thank you osterizer for your quick reply.
No problem taking the Heli apart as long as I have my digital camera and and explode of the Heli. The TX I got is made for helis its a Futaba 6EXHP with a Futaba R146iP RX and a Futaba 240 Gyro.
Thanks Much,
Paul
