i finaly did it! my savage is now bigger! i used an LST/MGT sized body for the extended chassis. this is my first atempt at stripeing, there are a few bad spots but nothing noticeable let know which set of wheels you guys like best, the first is the 40series moabs then the claw dawgs and then dirt bonz.

MTBoy: the 73 bronco shell from HPI has taken a considerable beating....even after it's broken it's still standing up to a lot of abuse.....the only thing I'm going to do on my next one is put a bit more reinforcement on the rear before I start bashing with it....

Thanks dhyde,
I'll have to try it. How do you reinforce it? Both of mine broke in the back. Bad landings[&o]
Hoping the lhs has a new tank so I can go to the skate park.

I reinforced the top of the "cab" with a piece of alumimum that I glued in with clear silicone (goes right ontop of my roll cage, keeps the truck from destroying the body on a hard hit) I'm gonna do the same in the back, make a bracket that goes at the mounting spot for the posts and possibly fill the "roll bars" and such in the body with silicone and after it sets up mold it over with a bit of custom fiberglass work.....to date I've destroyed 3 bodies, and at $35 a piece plus paint, it's getting expensive to have to do it each and every time, so I'm gonna see what I can do for reinforcing the next one before I run it......

I like your idea to reinforce. I'm working on buying my second one. My stock body seems to be the strongest so far. I thought when I landed I only cracked the tank but after further look.. My body is trashed in the back and I broke the back mount for the tank.[:@] Sucks becouse I just got back from the lhs and went to put on the tank to see the mount broke...

uh....I thought the inspiration came from the actual jeep rubicon? it's the decked out heavier duty offroad capable version of the wrangler.....(won awards for the new transfer case design and whatnot)
Well, I didn't know that there was an actual Jeep Rubicon... But Whipnets jeep looks like a spitting image of the limited edition Jeep Rubicon "Tomb Raider"
Hey guys, I am just now getting back to this thread. I appreciate all of your comments and compliments.
I was not aware of the Rubicon in Tomb Raider, but after looking it up, I can certainly see where those comments came from. Colorwise, it's right on.

Thanks again guys!

by the way, an easy way to reinforce the inside of the bodies is duct tape or gorilla tape, either one will work, I opted for gorilla cause it's thicker and the adhesive's considerably stronger. I'll get a pic of my grean meanie and post it as soon as I can.
