Ok, I've searched here in the forum for an hour and can't find my answer. Please Help!
Aerofly Professional Deluxe, just bought. Futaba type Ikarus interface cable. Tried with both a Futaba 4 channel and a Futaba 6XAS, both PPM. Windows XP. "Device Manager" says everything is fine. Game Controllers in Control Panel says "Ikarus Interface". I tried calibrating the transmitter in Control Panel/Game Controller but that didn't help. When I plug and unplug the interface cable, the computer makes it's ding dong USB sound, and says it's found the USB device.
HOWEVER, every time I start the program, it says "searching for USB device" in the black boot up screen. Then that screen closes and a grey dialogue box opens and says "Aerofly Professional cannot find the USB interface cable, please plug the interface cable into a free USB port." I have of course tried everything, and when you hit "Search", it still cannot find the cable. I've got hours into trying to trouble shoot this with no luck. (Yes, transmitter is on.)
HELP PLEASE BEFORE I SEND IT BACK FOR A REFUND.

Hi,
obviously the cable works. So I suggest to download the latest patch from www.ipacs.de.
The CDs often contain a previous version of the sim.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
Thanks for the response, but no luck. I have version 1.8.0.21, and I downloaded the patch for that version. I installed it successfully and recalibrated my controller (Futaba transmitter) as suggested. AFPD still says it can't find the cable. I'm lost and very disillusioned after hours of fighting with this problem. The support hasn't been good either. Why don't they answer the problems/questions here? At this point, I won't be recommending the product to any of my friends, and I'm an instructor so that's not good for business.
Thanks again for the suggestion,

Do you have access to another PC where you can test it?
We have to find out, whether it's a cable problem or a PC problem.
Additionally I suggest to publish your tm.log file at the ipacs forum.
http://www.ipacs.de/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=forum;f=4
Please read the topmost thread there:

Hi,
Ok, tried it on my daughters computer and no go. That's two computers with Pentium 4 1.8 mhz and 512 ram and Windows XP "Home version" and it won't work. However, I tried it on a friends newer computer today and it worked fine. It looks like a great program from the little I used it on my friends computer. Now if I could just get support for it to work on mine.....

Why don't you follow my suggestions?

I'm afraid, the problem is caused by an inadequate graphics board and you don't have openGL installed:
gl: vendor=Microsoft Corporation, renderer=GDI Generic, version=1.1.0
gl: (viewport=16384x16384) (texturesize=1024) (stencil=8)
gl: extensions=GL_WIN_swap_hint GL_EXT_bgra GL_EXT_paletted_texture
wgl: extensions=none
gl: extensions=(paletted texture)
wgl: extensions=
gl: software rendering
1. Check your graphics board and see the system requirements for AFPD.
2. Download the latest graphics driver and check in the system settings, that openGL support is enabled.
3. If this is an onboard graphics system you may insert another board.

Sorry this one was missed, but yes, you need open GL to run AFPD. Open GL is much like Microsoft's Direct X.

I just got the new CD Add on version 1.9.1.3. I am having the the exact same problem. I can't seem to fix the problem no matter what I do. Have you got a fix for this problem yet ? I have never used my JR9303 or my Futaba T7CAP even with the new adapters that were received with the new CD. Please help. Thanks. A very frustrated AFPD owner.

Please guys,
to give you some advice or support we have to know about your system!
Follow the links given above and list the necessary information.
The reason is clear:
AFPD has to run on many different systems. If it fails, it must be a critical PC configuration and we have to find this out.

By the way I have two TX...Futaba T6XAs and The Optic 6.
Neither work now after moving the cord.
I have been flying the sim for a very long time now and it has been runing fine till now.
I have checked all the plug-ins, USB ect...nothing???
I also restarted my comp?
I have a top notch setup for the sim...

Hello!
I am sorry that you are having problems. I finally sent mine in to the factory to be replaced. I haven't had a problem since. I thought for sure that it was my system or transmitter. It wasn't. I would just send it back for replacement. I screwed around for two weeks trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Do youself a favor. Send it Back. Good Luck and get back in the air soon. Take Care. Brian
