Default TMD Docs

Try my beautiful AFPD model: HobbiStar60. Free download from http://ipacs-sim.com/user-sites/downloads1.htm.

Sales pitch over, Rajul. Actually the point is not the model itself. It's to show that I'm serious enough about AFPD to have spent hundreds of hours with it and Metasequoia.

What I need desperately is documentation on the TMD file - even a bit of documentation would help.

And what gives between Ikarus and the US if the local stockists may not re-stock? Reference your reply 11/25/2008 to sl_guy.

Hi mikehoulder, what information specifically do you need on the tmd file? Have you tried finding this here http://ipacs-sim.com/user-sites/workshops1.htm

Oh yes, Rajul. Arthur Schoenknect has done his best to correct the problem of a violent swing on take-off and landing with the HobbiStar60. The problem consists :

With the stabilizer incidence set to zero, the swing disappears. But the model then has a severe pitch-up problem in flight. Arthur corrected this with a motor downthrust of 2 degrees. But the real HobbiStar60 has a stabilizer incidence of +2.5 degrees. If this is set in the model without the downthrust, it flies very well indeed - a real pleasure. BUT on the ground in this condition, it is a horror. I can tame it myself by using up elevator during take-off; but any use of the rudder on the ground causes it to pirouette like a ballet star.

I need the doc info desperately for two reasons:
1. The model flies so well in the air with the stabilizer set to +2.5 degrees that I want to produce a second release with the problem fixed.
2. I have big plans for the future (I am a retired Texas Instruments Senior Software Engineer). This TMD info is critical. If I cannot obtain this one way or another, I will have to consider seriously abandoning my investment in AFPD. For this reason, I am also vitally interested in your reply re: local suppliers not re-stocking.

Mike

The program developer, IPACS, does not have any documentation on tmd. If you need further inputs on your model, you could communicate with the developers here http://www.ipacs.de/forum/

Thank you, Rajul. But I would like to say that my intention has always been to enrich the community of users with my experience and skills without any form of personal recompense.
