I thought about using a big 2S/4S, but nah, had to go gas, IMHO the DA50/ZDZ50 is perhaps a bit OTT, but to use one of my favorite sayings ' there is no subsitute for cubes'

Thanks Doug

I thought it was only the 2.3 and above that came with wing bags.

My friend's one is almost finished. He has the blue/yellow version.
More or less the same setup as mine.
Consider crossing the rudder pull/pull wires. The exits will be much further backwards...
He maybe maidening his in a few weeks. I'll keep you informed.

Yep it comes with the same silver wingbags as the 2.3 and 2.6
Check your status composite website. If you ordered the red/yellow version it could be that you have to wait a little longer 'cause it's more popular than the blue/yellow version.

Hey Gaaaz!
Why the red motor stand-offs? Are the stock DA stand-offs not the correct length?

Hi Paul,

The red stand-offs came with the DA50. They are 63mm and metric threaded. This is my first DA50, maybe the newer version have these red stand-offs...

I am going to have to completely re-paint mine. They did not do a very good job on the seams, paticularly on the canopy. Bummer, I was planning on just graphics but not to be. My last C/A was the 2.3 JR scheme and it was excellent.

I remeber when I got my FC 2.6 Extra. They actually had it written out that the ugly, irregular seam and mimatched paint was a sign "of fine molded quality". They need to take a look at what is coming out of eastern Europe and Ukraine in the glider world. Razor straight seams, smooth to the touch, perfect paint match and so on. But I guess they had to cut costs someplace.

I guess my reading skills have slipped -
Nowhere do I see any referrences as to wing loadings on this model
Is it that no one really cares?
I would want it to have (at 78" span) - a loading of well under 25 ozs /ft.

Is this simply out of the park on this one?

Dick:
My guess it its because it can vary so much on the Comp/Arfs. with no ill effects. I have heard weight on the 2.6 from 23 to 30lbs. On the 2.3 from 17 to 22lbs, yet no complaints of heavy wing loading. Of course, you are right. This 2X2 with a DA-50 is going to come out in the 16lbs range which is on the high side for a 78" wingspan. Only time will tell how they fly. With snow on the ground, I am in no hurry to finish mine up.
