-Getting Max to fly again! (the kid moved up, so he has a shot at winning)
-I'm going to try something similar to TAS as far as a work schedule for everyone
-Last thing.......a smile on every pilots face as they have fun, Win or Lose!

Here are a couple of Maps and driving directions......
Realize there has been lots of new homes in the past 2 yrs.
You now have to takeDecatur and Turn Right on Grand Teton. Then turn Left on Aviary. You can also take I-215 to Alliante to Horse. (the left side of horse by decauter is now closed!
FROM I-15 (California)
Start out going NORTH on I-15 N.
2: Take the CHEYENNE AVE exit- EXIT 46.
3: Take the CHEYENNE AVE WEST ramp.
4: Merge onto E CHEYENNE AVE/NV-574.
5: Turn RIGHT onto N DECATUR BLVD.
6: Turn RIGHT on Grand Teton
7: Turn Left on Aviary
8: Field is straight ahead
From US93 (Boulder City NV)
Stay STRAIGHT to go onto I-515 N/US-95 N. Continue to follow US-95 N
2: Take the DECATUR BLVD exit.
3: Turn RIGHT onto N DECATUR BLVD.
4: Turn LEFT onto N RANCHO DR/NV-599 N/US-95 BR N/TONOPAH HWY.
5: Turn RIGHT onto N DECATUR BLVD.
6: Turn RIGHT on Grand Teton
7: Turn Left on Aviary
8: Field is straight ahead
From I-15 (Arizona)
Take I-15 S. 2: Merge onto CR-215 W via EXIT 52.
3: Turn RIGHT onto SIMMONS ST.
4: SIMMONS ST becomes ALIANTE PKWY.
5: ALIANTE PKWY becomes SIMMONS ST.
6: Turn LEFT onto GRAND TETON DR.
7: Turn RIGHT onto N DECATUR BLVD.
8: Turn RIGHT on Grand Teton
9: Turn Left on Aviary
10: Field is straight ahead
Cargo trailers need to be parked in the dirt because there will not be enough room for both car and trailer in the parking lot with 50+ pilots. You may leave your trailer overnight or take it with you each night. Cars are not allowed to stay parked in the dirt where the cargo trailers are.
For RV's there are no hookups and no dumping allowed. The closest spots are reserved for handicap (Joey Cass and family have first spot). If you are handicap and have a sticker I need to know to plan ahead. There will only be one motor home allowed by the field and that is the scoring motorhome.

Nice show and some great pilots. I took out three students today, Sat. so they could see what real flying was like and not just hacking around like I do. I think throttle management has finally sunk into there heads.
Loved my standard hot dog and five dollar burger meal too!! Just the right amount of grease to give it that special slide down the throat. Haven't had one that good sense my last show A couple of years ago.
For those locals that didn't make it out today it's worth the trip jut to see some really nice flying machines!!!!!!!

To anyone else I missed........its been a long weekend for me, I'll remember in a few days and if not THANKS anyway!
So here are the long awaited Results
2008 Sin City Results
Now for the Grand Champion and how it was determined......
Every sequence had the possiblity of getting 120 points
-10 manuevers (max point of 10 on each)
- Sound Score (max of 10 points)
- ACS Score (max of 10 points)
We flew 4 rds (3 knowns and 1 unknown)
-3rds x 2 sequences = 6
-1 unknown= 1
-6 sequences x2 judges= 12
-1 unknown x2 judges= 2
---total sequences=14 x 120(possible points each sequence)=1680
So up for grabs were 1680 points.
I did not throw out any sequences.
I did not count Pilot/Panel penalties
I did not count K-factors
In case of a tie the unknown round (basic flew 1 known sequence so it still worked for them) point winner would be used
In case of still a tie then the Highest throw out rds combined would be used
If still a tie.......I didn't get that far, thank Goodness
No one at the contest knew the criteria (as not to influence judging ...I also did not judge), I just told everyone to fly good in all rounds!
The Grand Champion is based on the pilots ability to get as many "Raw" points in every flight as possible. There was no need to handicap a pilot since all classes were handicaped based on abilities of the pilots.
Here are your top 10 (and the class they were in)
10 Ryan Hart (U) 1289
9 Joe Mac Gregor (I) 1294
9 Sam Gaglio (S) 1294
8 Steve Nelson (U) 1301
7 Eric Powell (U) 1307.5
6 Jason Benson (U) 1312
5 Rusty Fried (S) 1354
4 Curtis Pilcher (I) 1361.5
3 Bernie Boland (A) 1373
2 Bill Hempel (U) 1384.5
1 Ryan Archer 1459.5
Basic topped the list at #14 with Greg Minden
