JetCat USB Interface

I am interested in controlling a JetCat P100-RX w/ v10 ECU from a computer, but I don't have a usb interface. Is the JetCat usb interface proprietary, or can I use any RS232 6-wire phone cable to usb adapter?

The JetCat ECU needs a PWM signal the same as an R/C servo to operate. This connects via a 3 pin connector on the ECU. The easiest way to do this from a PC is to use a USB servo controller. There are several companies who make these or you can build and program one using an Arduino type microcontroller.

I should mention that in the list of features for the V10 ECU it mentions direct computer control via RS232-USB interface but nowhere in the JetCat literature is there an explanation of how to achieve this.

The cable is a RJ45. There is power, I2C, and RS-232. The adaptor is an FTDI USB/RS-232 (from ebay). Software is on the Jetcat website.
IIRC Jetcat published a handout for schools that explains the pinout and protocol.

I have some documents from prior uses at university for it. Let me know if you need them. I believe the RJ45 is proprietary as we never found a cable that matched it for a work project or during my other university project. I have only used the V12 ECU, but I believe it requires that RJ45 to micro usb adapter correct?
As for the software Install process, their software is old and not great, but workable if you have patience.
Downloading the Correct JetCat ECU Drivers
Download the newest available driver on the JetCat Downloads page.
Download and install the x64 version of the driver.
Connecting the ECU to windows
Once these drivers are downloaded, connect the ECU with USB into your computer. To Keep the ECU on, hook up with LiPo, GSU, Receiver, and receiver battery. The ECU should appear in the COM ports shown below but may show up in the Windows Device Manager within Other Devices as PEB_USB_01.
The yellow triangle indicates that it does not currently have the correct drivers installed. To install the correct drivers, right click on the device, select update driver, then select Browse my computer for drivers. Go to the folder with the download for the driver you created in the previous step and pick the extracted folder, JetCat-USB-Adater_Windows7_10_Drivers.
Software Installation for JetCat Throttle Control and Data Export With Personal Computer.
Using the same overall folder as before, install both of these programs in the same folder as the CP210x Drivers download.
The Installation order here is mandatory. Install Jettronic
Install Jetshow after installation of Jettronic from jetcat software webpage.
Extract Jettronic from its folder first, then open the setup wizard. If it gives a setup error, this can be ignored. (Has worked for 5 different engines.)
Once the setup is complete unplug the ECU. This will give you all necessary programs and drivers to run the Jetcat P100-RX.
Plug the ECU back in and then start the Jetshow software. This will give a loading bar the first time.
I am not 100% if this order is mandatory for these last two software wise, or why it would be, but across ~9 computers this is the only process that has worked. It says windows 7 and 10 for the ECU drivers, it still works on windows 11. These were the directions I had for the V12, if its not possible to have GSU and adapter in at the same time, then remove the GSU. I believe the process should be about the same between the ECU's but cannot guarantee it.
I am working on new software for my university and have a nearly completely complete build done, backend wise. Currently having a group of undergrads build me the UI for it. Only command I have not been able to get is one that spools the turbine only. I am looking to remove the GSU entirely as to be honest it's a piece of dated junk, but when talking with JetCat they acted like not having/using the GSU is a cardinal sin. Anyways I have it able to do everything the GSU can do not including hidden menus and the ability to spool. I have actually ran a few very basic tests with it and had no issues, but unfortunately I do not have access to any turbines anymore. I may have access to a uni turbine or at least ECU that can confirm commands work as expected but TBD. Was going to purchase one this summer but got laid off and I am in grad school atm, so no money to get one until I find another job.
