Its interesting the story on your Rascal 110.. I also have a Rascal 110 that was SIGs, bought it from there guy at a swap meet. Its a early Green one,no flaps. They used it as a test bed I guess.. It had been powered by glow/gas/electric.. was very clean and the only thing it was missing was one wing strut..great flier. I made it electric as it came with no power setup. I split the cowl to slide batteries in from the bottom. I don't recall the stories on the Heron sticker? But it was on there when I got it.. Part of me almost thinks it has something to do with a actual business? Memory fuzzy on that..
Video of it here.

WOW I've never seen a green Rascal 110, that's cool.
What's your electric setup? How well does it slow down to land without flaps?

I have built a few Sig kits, LT40, 4-star(s), hog bipe, to name a few. I am a novice builder, so I really appreciate the quality of these kits as well as the complete and thorough instructions.
I started about 30 years ago, have been away from the hobby for several years, but just getting back in this spring. I still have my LT40 as well as a 4-star 40 and I am really looking forward to flying them again.

Well done!!! That is one ***RARE*** kit.

Thanks! Found it under eBay listed as “Sig Bonanza”. I put “sig’ into the search engine and it pulled it up. Wouldn’t have worked if I was just looking for RC airplanes. Can’t wait to get started!

Hope to join the Sig Brotherhood! My first plane was a 1/6 scale Cub. I built it more than 40 years ago when I was a teenager. As a science fair project, I installed a 1-26 camera in the plane and took pictures in flight. I could take one picture, then had to land to advance the film. One of the judges said he liked the project, but taking pictures from models could never work commercially 🤣.
I just finished my second Sig kit, an Astro Hog with an FA-91. I’m waiting for the snow to melt for the maiden. I have a few more Sig kits in my collection on the shelf: Somethin’ Extra, 1/3 scale Spacewalker (EME 60 Autostart and a tow hook to be used as a glider tug), Hog Bipe and my favourite, a Ryan STA!

I use Fibreglass Specialties to replace most of the plastic cowls, but hadn’t thought about replacing the Ryan cowl and pants. I’ll have to add them to my next order…

I got three Top Flite Gold Edition warbirds in a package deal a month ago and ordered the Fiberglass parts available from Fiberglass Specialties. I have another Top Flite kit I have had for a number years I need to order the parts for it too. Craig's turn around is really good too!

In case anyone is interested, SIG is looking for investors to help bring in more wood and arf from overseas so they can fill back orders.
Greeting SIG supporters,
I have a question for those who want to see SIG Manufacturing expand and deliver more quality ARFs and kits. My partner and I are working on obtaining additional working capital to obtain more inventory and equipment to continue to catch up on the many backorders we currently have plus work toward building up more inventory such as airplane kits and fuel.
Prior to going to the capital markets and banks for our funding, we thought it would be best to go to those who already love and support SIG to present you with the ability to benefit from our growth. You, our loyal enthusiasts, already support us in many ways and this is another opportunity to do so in a very impactful way.
We are seeking those who would be interested in investing in SIG. We are offering simple return interest loans OR for those interested in larger amounts we are considering equity investments as well.
Why are we raising capital and what will it be used for?
Our largest raw material purchases (ARFs and Ecuadorian balsa wood) require thousands of dollars to be tied up for five to six months while the materials are processed and shipped overseas.
For example, our current financial capabilities only allow us to finance one container of balsa wood and one container of ARFs at one time, which is around $150,000 for the two containers. With our current backorders and sales trending up we should be bringing in seven to eight containers annually (three to four each of ARFs and wood).
Another use would be to upgrade equipment. For example, we have only one of our two 20-year-old 500-watt lasers working due to the rationing of Helium in the United States. Newer laser cutters do not use helium in the cutting process, so we are looking to buy two or three units at $16,000 to $20,000 each to supplement the two lasers we have.
My partner and I own 100% of Sig and have discussed sharing ownership of SIG Manufacturing to other likeminded individuals who believe in SIG and want to help the company move forward. Now is that time!
Word of us seeking investment has already leaked in the community and the interest level is high. We believe we can raise the $1,000,000 in funding and bring the company to the next level. If you are interested as well with an amount of $5000 or larger, please email me at tom@sigmfg. I will respond to your request to discuss next steps.

rejuvenuated Sig Kadet MkII
If the age of my Sig Kadet is typical, it's hard for Sig to sell many replacements.
I built the plane at least 30 years ago for a friend. Power was then an HP 40 Gold Cup. Test flew it a few times and handed it over.
He traveled across the country twice with it and later I got it back. Flew it many more times. No crashes, hard landings and only one incident when the upper wing covering got torn in one bay.
From there it went to a Club member to be electrified. That never happened and it was returned to me, along with a salvaged OS 46 Fxi from a Nexstar.
So here it is, with the original covering and silhouette windows added, ready for a return to the air. A new cowl would be in order since it has been severely relieved, first to fit the side mounted HP and now to fit the upright OS.
HP 40 Gold Cup with Tatone Pitts style muffler
OS 46 Fxi to replace HP 40

Kadet
Good to see an example of the rc hobby from days past. Kit built planes were repairable. SIG made high quality products and still does. I was a SIG dealer in the 80's to 2k. Hopefully SIG and other US hobby suppliers can survive. Supporting your lhs helps in many ways. Long live the Kadet, and SIG. I built a KWIK built P51 in 78, Miss America colors. Sold many SIG kits in my shop.
