Looks great Tom. The stringers add a nice touch.

Thanks, Steve.

I hope that you've been able to catch up on your sleep, after your recent move.

Yes Tom. Things are finally starting to wind down a bit. It's been a LONG few weeks. A couple more days and I should be back to making balsa dust.

I use the optional cutting guide, GPMR4013Cutting Guide, it really helps on the line up.

Tom is notoriously cheap, he's so cheap I have petitioned the clan chief to make him an honorary Scotsman! I told him Tom was from the Irish branch and not the English branch of the Crump family. (We do have standards you know however low they may be.)

I prefer the word "frugal" .

I covered the stab and fin today. The ailerons and rudder are installed.

Keep in mind, that the graphics, cowl and landing gear. will be red to accentuate the fin.

Maybe a black lighting stripe, and a teddy bear on the tail.

The elevator has been installed, and I pinned the hinges.

I made a switch/jack mount, and installed it.

The area was then covered, and the switch/jack was installed.

I bound an RX, and got the servos to wigglle.

I called Sig, and ordered a Kadet Sport cowl. Sig said that it will fit...........................with modification.

I have thought of doing this (mostly because the Spacewalker I have has them and I thought it was a cool idea) do you have any pics that show how it turned out for you? How big did you make them? It would potentially make repairs a little more complicated though.

1/8" square stock was used for the stringers.

I haven't saved any of the pics in this thread. If you look closely, you can see the stringers under the covering on the fuselage sides and top.

Ah, yes - the dreaded "with modification" caveat. I wouldn't worry, it's probably not much more than a total rebuild of the nose section (LOL). Gotta tell ya, I like this Kadet and how it's turning out!! Might it be called a Cub Kadet? Or would that be going too far?

...

My Sr. Falcon's coming along - I'm actually beginning to think it might fly again. Got the inner ply liners cut and fitted. Pics on that thread show the whole front end fitted but not glued yet.

Ya got me so much wanting to get to the new extended wing for for my SR. But still not at a point that I can do any work. And then add in that I am pretty certain that we will only be at my mothers for another 2-4 months.

After some searching I think I may have the mostly likely club to join. It is also the club closest to where we intend to move. They also have a CL fliers there also. Not a shprt drive and a bit spendy to join.

Thanks, guys.

I doubt that the cowl mod will be too difficult.

Cub Kadet ? That's funny !

I've been thinking about blowing up the Senior's plans to a size suitable for a G-26. Grosbeak had me thinking about building the AMR trainer, but maybe an enlarged Kadet Senior Sport would be a suitable project.

You'll find a suitable club, Ken, I'm sure.

I may have omitted that I installed the side windows, yesterday.

Today, I managed to make the aileron linkages.

The rest of the day was spent by changing the oil in my snow blower, and clearing my drive.

You already have an enlarged Kadet Sr. It's called the Ryan Brougham!

Argh... actually, that has to be the saddest thing I've ever read in the RCU forums. Of course, we're not far behind, I'm afraid. Put the blankets on the horses this afternoon, it's snowing here right now - but very light.

You have a valid point, but maybe I can get this one to balance. LOL

I was thinking about something very similar, though. A Kadet Senior Spirit of St Louis is not out of reason.

We had snow overnight and more is predicted for today. I may as well get used to it. The snow usually remains until late April.

Tom, don't feel like you need to share the snow, we'll let you keep it all for yourself!
