I'm looking for a good fall/winter project. I plan to do a giant scale p 47 glassed with as much scale detail that i can afford and do. With a kit I know i'll have a slight headstart building than going with full cut ziroli plans. I haven't built a kit since a Lanier Stinger kit. I'm patient and meticulous when it come's to building. I know i'll have a lot more freedom with with customization and such with plans over a mfg kit...
So I know with kits replacement parts such as cowl and such are readily available. With plans lots of these parts are 1 of's or custom mfg.
I'm leaning and tilted toward going with ziroli plans as i'll have more control during the building process... Everything I'll get to pick out.
I do like the kits basically being one stop shopping with all required hardware and you upgrade the kits parts/hardware as needed during the build.
What should I go with? Somewhat easier to build MFG Kit or go with plans?

If your building experience is limited to a Stinger, you may benefit from a kit with step by step instructions.
The Top Flite Giant Scale P-47 is a great model, with great plans and instructions. Accessory parts are available, and the model can be easily detailed.
There are several threads about this model, so there is plenty of info available.
