Me and my dad would like to put together a plane by kit. I was going to get the Somethin' Extra kit but I didn't know if my dad was going to go out on a ship for 4 months and me not be able to finish the plane, instead, I got the ARF Somethin' Extra. I was at the hobby store last week picking up the engine and I brought up I would like to build a kit. Well, he was going for the 4 Star 40, but said that that would be going "down" from the Somethin' Extra, but would be a good first kit to build and a good "Sunday Flyer." Then, we walked around and I saw the Extra..I think that it was Great Planes, but he also recommended that also once, and only once I got used to the Somethin' Extra and could fly the H*** ou to of it. He said that the Extra would kinda be stepping it up a notch and Great Planes?? has more parts to handle. I am really going for the Extra mainly because I LOVE AEROBATICS......they really get me in trouble with my Superstar, but I LOVE THEM.....I don't really want a "Sunday Flyer", I want a "Sunday EXTREMER"......I want to fly like there's no tomorrow..( I fly like that anyways) but I also LOVE the Extra.....WE ALL HAVE TO LEARN SOMETIME, RIGHT??......But I do want an aerobatic plane for my 3rd plane......the LHS man also recommended the P-51....(forgot what manuf. but this plane wasn't really scale)........

Well, I think also that it will be a good build as long as me and my dad take it slow. I also have an advantage because my dad SCRATCH build a huge glider for his brother. SCRATCH build it.....cut the wood, shape it, sand it, and COVERED IT HIMSELF.....I think that we might be ok because he has at least SOME EXPERIENCE building........but that was like 25-30 years ago........but I think we'll be ok........
